[ALERT] Local Indian Eatery Closes Dunwoody and Decatur Locations

Sankranti Indian Kitchen has in recent weeks closed both its Dunwoody and Decatur area restaurants.  The Atlanta-based Indian fast casual restaurant opened the two eateries in January 2022 and April 2023, respectively.

In Dunwoody, Sankranti occupied a 1,700 square foot space in the street level retail spaces at the Park Center phase 2 development where State Farm maintains a significant office presence.  The space (237 Perimeter Center Parkway) was  beside where fellow fast casual eatery The Halal Guys quietly closed in September.  (Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse closed at Phase 1 of the project last December.)

The Decatur location, 1569 North Decatur Road, is actively being marketed for sale by local restaurant brokerage The Shumacher Group.  The fast casual eatery occupies a 2,200 square foot space previously home to Lucky's Burgers & Brew (closed in 2020) and before that Starbucks (which relocated to Suburban Plaza).

A third Sankranti location which opened in December 2023 in Midtown remains open.  The Midtown outpost is located at 85 5th Street at Tech Square near Georgia Tech.

Are you surprised to see Sankranti close in Dunwoody?  What would you like to see open in place of Sankranti, The Halal Guys,  or Del Frisco's at Park Center?  What is your favorite Dunwoody area restaurant?
