[EXCLUSIVE] Moxie Burger to Join Sandy Springs Shopping Center

A new location of Moxie Burger is on tap for Chastain Market (4600 Roswell Road) in Sandy Springs.  The new burger spot will open in a roughly 3,300 square foot space that was part of the former Tupelo Honey Cafe.  This would mark the locally owned chain's first new location since they opened on DeKalb Avenue in Candler Park in May 2023.

Atlanta-based Moxie Restaurant Group started in East Cobb's Paper Mill Village in March 2012.  Today there are five Moxie Burger locations around town including those in East Cobb, Roswell, Marietta, Kennesaw, and Candler Park.

The counter-service burger spot features a menu of assorted burgers - beef, veggie, lamb, and salmon - as well as chicken sandwiches, salads and assorted fries.

The group previously operated La Novia Taqueria in Paper Mill Village, but after opening it in 2017 and rebranding it in 2019 as Moxie Taco, sold it in late 2022 to focus on the growth of the burger business.  (Today the taco spot operates as Green Coyote Cantina.)

ToNeTo Atlanta reported February 18 that Mattress Lux is opening in the other portion of the former Tupelo Honey at Chastain Market, while Learning Express is also opening in the center, itself relocating from nearby Roswell-Wieuca shopping center.  All of these upcoming openings are in addition to the recent debut of Three Dollar Cafe, which earlier this month moved from a freestanding building across the street to the former Snooze building in Chastain Market.

Are you familiar with Moxie Burger?  Are you pleased to hear Moxie Burger is opening in Sandy Springs?  What is your favorite casual burger chain in metro Atlanta?

  1. Now this is can get behind. I mean, obviously a second mattress store would have been better, but you can’t have everything.

  4. We don't need another cheese and egg burger joint, we need an Arby's.

  5. Revolving door for restaurants at this complex. Hope they do better. Moxie burger is good when it’s good (Roswell) and bad when it’s bad (original East Cobb location). Shout out to Green Coyote, bit of a hidden gem. Really good.

  6. Disgusting. They got low 80s on inspections in their restaurant and then a 53. Don’t care that on a scheduled inspection they were able to do better. It will just fall again. The investment group needs to concentrate on cleaning up operations before expanding. An inspection in the 80s is disgusting. One in the 50s is pure negligence. Their continual expansion is causing them to drop the ball. They claim to be a neighborhood sort of place. They need to start caring about the neighbors, stop expanding and clean up their act. Not just one inspection, let’s see what happens next year. Yuck.

    1. I have eaten at the Lake Claire location maybe 5 times. It’s just a very basic place. Not bad, just boring.
