The Lululemon store at Westside Provisions District has closed after a little more than fourteen years in business. The athleisure apparel store was located at 1168 Howell Mill Road and after opening on June 8, 2012, closed for good as of Friday, August 28.
While no reason was cited for the closure, the Westside Lululemon had been the target of multiple high-profile thefts over the past couple of years, with published reports of known thefts indicating that nearly $100,000 in merchandise had been stolen across multiple incidents.
In one incident in February of 2025, 440 items totaling nearly $39,000 were stolen. Two suspects were later arrested after a traffic stop and the merchandise was eventually recovered. Prior thefts and burglaries were not as simple and often led to significant loss and downtime when the business was broken into.
Although Lululemon has had issues of its own to deal with and faces increased competition from the likes of Vuori and Alo, the latter of which is increasing its local retail presence, Lululemon still operates nine stores around metro Atlanta, in addition to stores in Athens, Augusta, and Savannah, plus an outlet in Dawsonville.
A source close to the Westside Provisions District suggests that property management is assessing several potential replacement tenants but that no lease has been signed at this time.
Are you team Lululemon, Alo, Vuori or someone else? What would you like to see open in place of Lululemon at Westside Provisions District? If you could name one reason for the majority of issues in West Midtown, what would it be?
