Roti Modern Mediterranean, a growing quick-serve Mediterranean fast-casual chain, is looking to open its first standalone location in metro Atlanta. The new restaurant is planned for Forsyth Town Center, the new Whole Foods Market-anchored development along Ronald Reagan Parkway in Cumming.
In Forsyth Town Center, Roti joins a roster of new food options that is includes Chipotle and Panda Express, which have already opened, as well as Potbelly, which is slated to open in the coming months. A previously planned Portillo's is no longer opening.

The Roti restaurant business was started in Chicago in 2007, and at its peak in 2020 was comprised of 42 restaurants across six markets. After closing about a third of their locations in 2021, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2024, was acquired in 2025 by Atlanta-based private equity firm BroadPeak Capital and is today headquartered in Sandy Springs.
The firm, already the owners of Edible [Arrangements], inserted Roti into their holding company "Edible Brands." In addition to Edible and Roti, the group also includes Edibles.com, a THC retailer that opened a brick and mortar store near the Beltline in Inman Park this past April.
For its part, Roti currently includes sixteen traditional locations across three markets. The chain opened a first for the brand ghost kitchen unit in Smyrna this past January and also operates a mini counter location within Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Roti faces serious competition.
Although Roti predates what we know today as Cava by several years, it's a tiny player in the Mediterranean quick-serve landscape today.
Cava, which opened their first fast casual location in 2011, today counts nearly 500 units, including 27 across Georgia, one of which is across the street in The Collection at Forsyth.
There are also several other chains in the space, too. Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh and Naf Naf Grill, both fledgling quick- serve Mediterranean chains, each operated single units in metro Atlanta in Hartsfield-Jackson and Sugarloaf Mills respectively, and both have since closed.
Mezeh Mediterranean Grill, seen by some as a "Cava-clone", has more than 50 locations on the east coast but has yet to enter the Atlanta market.
Across the street from the new center sits House of Hummus, a locally owned quick-serve eatery, also serving similar fare.

Usually, when I hear the term “Roti”, I think Indian, not Mediterranean. As someone who travels a lot to the DC area, Mezeh is really good and wish that was the one entering the market instead. I won’t think of Roti for Mediterranean food.
It seems to me that everything that is billed/labeled as a QSR has an extremely short shelf life. I expect nothing less here.
