Egg Harbor Cafe Arriving Early Next Year in South Buckhead

Egg Harbor Cafe is opening its third metro Atlanta location.

Lincolnshire, Illinois-based Egg Harbor Cafe is coming to South Buckhead.  The breakfast and lunch eatery entered the Atlanta market in early 2011 with a location in Johns Creek followed by a second location in Sandy Springs early last year.

In 2010, a deal was in place for the chain's first Atlanta area location to open in Buckhead at the old Sears Automotive building West Paces Ferry Road, but that deal fell apart at the last minute.  (Flywheel, STG Trattoria and a few other businesses have since opened at the property.)

Egg Harbor's South Buckhead location will be on the ground floor of The Brookwood on Peachtree Road.  The breakfast and lunch eatery will join Watershed on Peachtree and Saltyard as dining options at the condominium building.

Watershed is largely known as a dinnertime restaurant though they are open for lunch Tuesday though Friday and are open for brunch Saturday and Sunday. Saltyard is presently only open for dinner, but lunch hours could be added in the future.

Both existing Atlanta area Egg Harbor locations, along with the entire chain, operate exclusively between the hours of 6:30AM and 2PM, seven days a week.

Egg Harbor Cafe had considered opening a location in Poncey Highlands last year. The old Pura Vida to be exact. but ownership decided parking was too great a challenge and opted to move forward with the Brookwood location instead.

Destin, Florida-based Another Broken Egg Cafe already operates a restaurant at Peachtree Battle, near the upcoming Egg Harbor Cafe.  Both breakfast restaurants are expanding in Atlanta with Another Broken Egg now operating a total of four locations in Alpharetta, Buckhead,  Dunwoody and Vinings.  A fifth location is coming soon to Savannah.

Bradenton, Florida-based First Watch is also expanding its Georgia footprint with a number of new restaurants planned.  Having already purchased and rebranded J. Christopher's locations in Smyrna and Johns Creek as First Watch, the chain later opened in Dunwoody Village and has another location in the works in Alpharetta.

Current projections call for Egg Harbor Cafe's location at The Brookwood to open in late early to mid February.

Where is your favorite place for breakfast in Buckhead?

I love breakfast places, just wish someone would open one closer to Phipps / Lenox. Another Broken Egg is my favorite but traffic along that corridor can make that short distance drive painful on the weekends.

Good luck with parking. I'd rather not pay to park for lunch and with other options nearby with free parking like Mellow Mushroom, El Azteca, Uncle Julios and Ted's among other shops across from Piedmont, we'll see how this goes.

A small correction - it's a condo complex, not an apartment complex..

Don't forget the impending Bell Street Burrito Relaunch!

That block is turning into a great asset to the neighborhood... This, Salt Yard, Watershed and Bell St. have all popped up recently joining places like R. Thomas and Sufis. Lots of great, diverse option.
