New Chicken Salad Joint Crosses State Lines and Coming to Metro Atlanta

A new casual dining concept is coming to East Cobb.

Auburn, Alabama-based Chicken Salad Chick is entering metro Atlanta with a location in East Cobb.  The new 2800 square foot location will open in Providence Square shopping center on Roswell Road in suite 811, close to T.J. Maxx.

Chicken Salad Chick was started by Stacy & Kevin Brown in 2008, and has since grown to include a dozen locations in Alabama, Georgia, Florida and South Carolina.  About a half dozen new locations are under construction including one in the new market of Chattanooga.

To build an entire business around a single, niche item seems a bit dangerous, but they seem to be doing well.  The restaurant does offer a whopping 15 variations of chicken salad though, so perhaps there will be something for everyone.

Chicken Salad Chick has existing Georgia locations in Columbus and Valdosta and is coming soon to Midland.

Chicken Salad Chick joins a number of other casual eateries in Providence Square including La Madeline, Honey Baked Ham and most recently Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint.  The center is anchored by The Home Depot and a T.J.Maxx / HomeGoods.

Sources say the local franchisee plans to have the East Cobb location open by April and may be eyeing additional openings in areas like Johns Creek and Sandy Springs.

The store in Columbus seems to do well. It's a hot spot for ladies lunch gatherings. It's in one of the best shopping centers in town. The chicken salad is pretty good but not in the same league with Cafe at Pharr.

The Columbus store seems to do well. It's a big gathering place for ladies luncheons. Being located in the best shopping center in town certainly helps. The chicken salad is good but not in same league with Cafe at Pharr. I'm not sure Atlanta is a smart move. I think it resonates more in Columbus, Macon, Augusta type markets. Best of luck though.

What?! Pharr Road Cafe was founded on chicken salad alone, and they've been quite successful.

Don't forget the big honking Chili's in the middle of ProvSq parking lot. Always covered up and no, I don't know why. And considering that Common Quarter two strip malls away gets $11 for a lunch portion of chick salad, I'd say CSC has done their homework.
