Bits & Bites

Tom Tom Tapas & Tequilas is slated to open in time for Valentine's Day, possibly as soon as Friday.  Tom Catherall's return to Atlanta comes by way of a return of Tom Tom, his original eatery.  Tom Tom is opening in place of the former Noche at the corner of Virginia and Highland Avenues, in Virginia Highland.

A new Circle K gas station and convenience store is planned for the former Fuelman gas station on Marietta Boulevard.

A new Bojangles' is planned for I- 85 at Roberts Drive in Riverdale.

Double Zero Napoletana recently announced it will "move" from  Sandy Springs to Emory Village.  Let me clarify, the restaurant is closing in Sandy Springs, and a separate restaurant that will likely be very different, will open in Emory Village in the old Ink & Elm.  The new restaurant will retain the Double Zero name, but the menu is likely to be very different, with Italian influences, but likely little to no pizza.

HomeGoods plans to open two new Atlanta area locations on March 13th.  The new stores will open in Suburban Plaza near Decatur, and in the new Scenic Promenade on Scenic Highway in Snellville.

Kidswear retailer Peek is closing its location at Phipps Plaza and most of its retail network following its recent Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. The San Francisco-based retailer, backed by Nordstrom, opened its roughly 1,600 square foot store near Lilly Pulitzer on Phipps Plaza's main level in early 2014.  Before the bankruptcy filing, the retailer operated nineteen locations in ten states.  Peek is carried within Nordstrom stores and could continue to be.  Kla, a locally owned boutique next door to Peek, closed at the end of last year.

A new Goodwill store & donation center is planned for 715 Atlanta Highway in Cumming.

Schlotzsky's Deli is on board to join Freddy's, Chipotle, Pie Five and Sprouts Farmers Market at Sugarloaf Marketplace in Duluth.

Kiehl's will soon have a new home on the main floor of Lenox Square.  Previously on "main mall," the skincare retailer moved to make way for Mont Blanc's expansion in 2014, and later moved to a temporary location on the mall's upper floor near Abercrombie & Fitch.  The new store is to the right of Topshop, in the old Davante eyewear store.

The "Express Pharmacy" on Buford Highway near Briarwood Road has closed.  The onetime Sonic which later became a host of local restaurants was completely renovated for the pharmacy and convenience store last year.  The business closed in recent days and its 3,000 square foot building is now listed as "available."

Thanks for giving a date on the HomeGoods opening in Decatur! I've been looking forward to it for quite a while now.

The new cycle bar is opening next to Wild Wing Cafe on Ashford Dunwoody road in Dunwoody. It is in the same strip mall as Chillis.

I noticed the signage up the other day. I believe the space was a Merle Norman salon before that?

> H&M planning to open at store at Stonecrest along with Round1 Entertainment Center (similar to Dave & Busters)

With the the ethnicity at Stonecrest, H&M will do enough sales to make the theft they're going to have worth it.

I drove by the old Return to Eden store today and there were people working on remodeling it. Anyone know what might being going in there?

@Lindsay,

I apologize, that should have been included in this post. The former Return to Eden has been leased to "The Atlanta Dance Academy."

Thanks for your comments and readership.

???? -- Briarcliff Road and Buford Highway? Where do these two streets intersect?

I should have realized Roger @9:39 PM meant BriarWOOD Road and Buford Highway. (That's what happens when I read the comments before reading the main article.)
