Arby's Thinking Snellville Needs More Meats

Atlanta based Arby's is planning to build a new restaurant at 1679 Scenic Highway in Snellville.  The restaurant, which would occupy an outparcel of the new Scenic Promenade shopping center, will be about 2,200 square feet and feature a drive-thru.
This would mark the second Arby's in Snellville, joining an existing late 90s/early 2000s era location on Main Street (US 78) just off Scenic Highway (SR 124), about three miles away.

The new Arby's would be built in the northern outparcel of the center closest to The Fresh Market.  HomeGoods and Best Buy are also in the center with a new SunTrust planned in the outparcel closest to to Best Buy in the southern end of the center.

ToNeTo Atlanta reported last month that Arby's will be switching their soft drink offerings from Pepsi Co. to The Coca-Cola Company next year.

Arby's is just the latest in a string of recent Snellville area restaurant openings.  Taco Bell, Culver's, CookOut, Freddy's, Zaxby's, Pollo Tropical, Jim 'N Nick's, Cracker Barrel and soon, Outback Steakhouse will have opened in the past year or so on Scenic Highway.

Arby's, like Hardee's, Moe's Southwest Grill, Jimmy John's and McAllister's Deli, among others, are all owned by Atlanta-based Roark Capital Group.

Are you excited for the addition of a second Arby's to Snellville?  What other restaurants would you like to see open in the area?  What is your favorite quick serve restaurant?

Please share your thoughts below.

Bring Arby's back to Tucker. There's room at Meridian.

Bets are the Arby's on Main St (78) along with the other fast food their will eventually close down. Just can't see those places staying open. Snellville does not need anymore of anything on Scenic Highway, however they are building to meet the demands of the demographic that seems to be moving to the area in large quantities. Big neighborhoods and cheap houses are being over built and would expect a lot of school redistricting in the near future with no chance of your students staying in the school district you think you bought into. That sign that says Brookwood schools won't mean nothing in 5 years. Arby's SMH

Roark should put a McAllister's Deli in Snellville instead of the Arby's. That would make more dollars and sense but we all know these restaurant and retail developers do what want.

What are they building in the other corner of that plaza though. Also there is something going up across from the old Gander Mountain store. Any clues yet?

@Anon RE: other corner and across from former Gander Mountain,

The other corner of the Arby's center will be a SunTrust Bank. The building across from the former Gander Mountain will be a Crunch Fitness.
