[UPDATE] S&W Seafood Goes Fishing For New Owner

After a little less than a year in business, David Weinberg of S&W Seafood is putting the business up for sale.  A  listing from The Shumacher Group indicates that the 2,800 square foot restaurant is being offered for $99,000 with "generous owner financing options with as low as 50% down."  The restaurant is located in Johns Creek at 5805 State Bridge Road, near its intersection with Medlock Bridge Road in Medlock Corners shopping center.
The listing indicates that the restaurant has seating for 70 plus an an eight seat bar.  Rent is $5,800 per month, "all in," and the restaurant is in the midst of a five year lease with four 5 year options to renew.  Weinberg will license the name, trademarks, and recipes for one year at no cost to the new owner. If the license continues thereafter, a nominal fee of $500 per month will be charged.  The listing further indicates that Weinberg will share with buyer "direct seafood vendors thus cutting out the middleman."

S&W Seafood traces its history in metro Atlanta to 1934 when it opened at the municipal market, today known as the Sweet Auburn Curb Market.  The last time prior to 2017 that Weinberg was involved in the restaurant was about 30 years ago, and no doubt a lot has changed in the industry in the interim.

Ahead of the opening, Weinberg told ToNeTo Atlanta that he planned to "grow the concept through  corporate owned and/or franchised units.” Those plans have apparently changed.

The sales listing invites would-be buyers to "keep or convert" to any concept.   Any new owner would be provided "full support and training with the sale."  A full staff is in place with the restaurant's sales history provided upon request.

Have you made it to the reincarnated S&W Seafood in Johns Creek? Did you ever dine at the original S&W Seafood?  What is your favorite restaurant in Johns Creek?

Great service, but the food is comparable to Captain D's. So you get chain seafood at restaurant prices.

That deal sounds fishy.

Same ole stuff with food service.....visited when they first opened several times. Food good, with good value. Then noticed changes in the kitchen and server staff....downhill slide ensued. Crappy employees do not make for business growth and loyal following....gnowhaimsayin?

Restaurant management.....vanilla works much better in all recipies. Customers like much better , and will return for more. Sad to see another restaurant failing.
