[CLOSURE ALERT] Arby's Axes Alpharetta Outpost

On the heels of its recent closure in Roswell, Arby's has now also closed its freestanding restaurant on Brookside Parkway, just off Old Milton Parkway in Alpharetta.  The roughly 3,300 square foot restaurant, located about two miles east of Avalon, opened in 2000 and according to local sources and closed abruptly within the past few days.

Fulton county property records indicate that the former Arby's sits on just over one acre and was valued at nearly $1.3 million in 2019.

ToNeTo Atlanta contacted the Arby's public relations department regarding the Roswell closure and later the Alpharetta closure, but now a decade later not even so much as a "no comment" from anyone at the Atlanta-based restaurant chain.

Arby's operates more than 3,400 locations worldwide.

Metro Atlanta; however, is littered with former Arby's restaurants, both freestanding and in mall food courts.  Riding a wave of renewed interest in the brand and marketing that is resonating with its core demographic, the chain is once again growing locally with several new or upcoming restaurants in the metro area.

In 2018, Arby's opened a new restaurant on State Bridge Road in Johns Creek in a converted former Pollo Tropical, and another along Scenic Highway in Snellville.  This past March, a new Arby's opened on Peachtree Parkway in Cumming, where in 2017 local restaurant Norman's Landing had closed.

After months of debate and negotiations, a new Arby's planned for Lawrenceville Highway in Tucker was approved by the Tucker City Council this past October.  The restaurant should open sometime later this year. In addition, to new restaurants the company is also investing in its existing units with new interiors, signage, and other improvements at such locations as those on Howell Mill Road in Atlanta and more recently, on Roswell and Wieuca Roads in north Buckhead.
Are you disappointed to learn of Arby's closure in Alpharetta?  What would you like to see open in place of Arby's in Alpharetta?  What is your favorite quick-serve restaurant?

absolutely disappointed by the abrupt closure. Some of the nicest staff were at this location - I have to say it was my "go to" favorite Fastfood spot in Alpharetta since relocating here in 2014. The food was always Hot, the team always courteous. Hopefully they all found a new job with the apparent short notice.

What would I like to see in it's place?? - ARBY's but if not then another quick serve restaurant is ok by me NOT A COFFEE SHOP please.

I'm disappointed. It's another in an increasingly longer list of restaurant closings on that stretch of Old Milton. Subway, Cuzi's, Carmine's, etc. I work out that way and like to walk to these places for lunch. :(

I would like to see a Long John Silvers open in our area. The nearest that I know of is on Moreland Avenue in East Atlanta.

For what it's worth, there's one in Suwanee on PIB. Not terribly close, but much closer than Moreland Avenue. :)

Major bummer. Ate at this location 10-12 times a year. Arby's has recently upped their game with some of the best fast food out there. Was also disappointed when they closed the Dunwoody location 5-6 years ago. Where am I gonna be able to get a Smokehouse Brisket? Sad.

Not at all surprised that the Arby's on Old Milton closed. We had nothing but problems every time we went there, the last time we waited 20 min. for 2 sandwiches and fries, then before that, one of the girls that worked behind the counter brought her 2 toddlers too work, they were annoying customers, crawling all over the booths and tables. You children aren't covered by insurance if they fall and get hurt. I called corporate Arby's and that was taken care of. There bathrooms were dirty and the tables were never wiped after a previous customer. Bad management and poor help is what led to the closure of the store. We had gone there since the day they opened, and sorry to see it close.
