[UPDATE] Vincent's Serves Final Meal in Marietta

After nearly sixteen years serving diners, Vincent's Italian Restaurante at 3412 Ernest W. Barrett Parkway in Marietta closed Saturday night for the final time.  Ownership made the announcement via the restaurant's facebook page where the community was thanked for their years of patronage and specials were offered on both food and wine.  Vincent's occupied a roughly 4,600 square foot freestanding building and first opened August 21, 2004.

"Hi Vincent's friends and family, it is with a heavy heart that we announce that tonight will be our final night of service. We will be permanently closed after the dinner shift tonight from 5-8pm. We want to sincerely thank everyone for their support, not only during these tough times, but also the many years we got to enjoy with you in the Marietta community. It's been our honor to serve up Italian classics from our family, to yours."

No reason was given for the abrupt closure but the restaurant had been listed for sale by local brokerage The Shumacher Group for some time. (Shumacher's Steve Josovitz previously sold the business in 2014.)  It's worth noting too that the current COVID-19 situation is affecting restaurants locally and around the country in a major way.  Several Atlanta area restaurants have closed in recent days, with some planning to reopen when the pandemic is over, while others simply accelerated previously scheduled closures in light of recent events.

In Vincent's facebook post, ownership addressed what some peoples' concerns will ultimately turn to: gift cards purchased to supply lifelines to restaurants strapped for cash.

"If you have any gift cards you've purchased from us, they can be used at our sister restaurants in Roswell, Zest, NOCA Eatery & Bar (currently closed, but reopening after this passes) and soon-to-come in the next few months, Lola's Burger and Tequila Bar.  It's been a pleasure serving you. Thank you so much for many wonderful years."

Vincent's, like countless other restaurants around the country, took part in last Tuesday's The Great American Takeout, which urged the public to get at least one meal from a restaurant on Tuesday for delivery or takeout.  The event is being repeated this coming Tuesday March 31.  While you won't be able to support Vincent's, please support your other local restaurants by taking part in this critical initiative.  Show support and promote the campaign using hashtag #TheGreatAmericanTakeout and post pictures of your meal on your preferred social platform.

ToNeTo Atlanta is constantly updating our list of restaurants that are open for business in some form or fashion, and ways to support them and their employees during this difficult time.

Please take part in #TheGreatAmericanTakeout and stay safe

Omg that is terrible I hate to see this place go not because of Covid 19, but in general is extremely devastating! 😞
