In an unfortunate COVID-19 related move, Nancy's Pizzeria in Buckhead has permanently closed. The restaurant had been "temporarily" closed for several weeks and was thought to be reopening, but ToNeTo Atlanta confirmed Monday that its closure is in fact permanent. The 4,500 square foot Buckhead outpost, 2625 Piedmont Road in Buckhead Crossing, originally opened in November 2017.
While less than three years is not an overwhelming life for a restaurant, both Nancy's fared better than fellow Chicago-based deep dish pizzeria Gino's East which closed in Poncey Highland last spring after less than six months in business.
Buckhead area residents who crave deep dish pizza still have at least one other nearby option in Rosati's Pizza on Wieuca Road in north Buckhead near Chastain Park.
Chicago-based Nancy's Pizzeria still has several Atlanta area locations open including those on Ponce de Leon Avenue in Midtown, Ashford Dunwoody Road in Dunwoody, Mansell Road in Roswell and off Camp Creek Parkway in East Point. The chain also has a restaurant on Dogwood Drive in Conyers and earlier this year opened another on Chapel Hill Road in Douglasville.
Are you surprised to see Nancy's Pizzeria closed in Buckhead and Johns Creek? What is your favorite place for deep dish pizza in metro Atlanta? What would you like to see open in the two now former Nancy's Pizzeria locations?

Good riddance.... JC location had quality issues...imo
Not surprised at all concerning the Johns Creek location. The worst service I've experienced in ages. Three times, good pizza, terrible customer service.
I wonder if the Conyers location will be next....
yooo gotsta hire right in the restaurant business! gnowhaimsayin?
I've eaten at the Conyers location twice and was not impressed either time . The last time I was in there it was more of a dance hall with a DJ at 5:00 on a Friday night . Service was horrible both times but food was okay.
I haven't been to the one in Dunwoody, but I've read it's best to call way ahead b/c it takes about an hour to make and cook a deep-dish pizza. So if anyone thought they'd have it 20 minutes later, it doesn't work like that so much. This may be one reason they've had such problems here.
Very true. You must call ahead for the deep dish pizza
I've eaten at Nancy's Pizza several times..at Midtown,Camp Creek and Conyers. My food was always good. Far as customer service, before I got my order, the waitresses/ waiters warned me about the possibly long wait ( sometimes I did and if I had the time I would stay or call in, others I didnt) but appreciated them telling me that.
As long as they're open ,its that kind of professionalism that will keep me coming back to Nancy's.
Hope this does not happen to the Roswell location. We get it delivered through Uber Eats every couple of weeks. The pizza is amazing, and so is everything else we have tried.
East point location just closed
