[CLOSURE ALERT] Mrs. Winner's Appears Closed in Sandy Springs

After two brief years in business, it appears Mrs. Winner's has closed in Sandy Springs.  ToNeTo Atlanta readers report that Mrs. Winner's has been closed for the past several days with calls to the restaurant left unanswered.  Located at 8550 Roswell Road, Mrs. Winner's debuted in late 2020 in place of what had most recently been a Bojangles.

The site, between Northridge Road and Hightower Trail, made little sense from the start, in part due to the fact that it was located in a rather affluent area of metro Atlanta, not the demographic of the typical Mrs. Winner's consumer.

According to the Mrs. Winner's website, there are still six other Mrs. Winner's restaurants in Georgia including those on Fulton Industrial Boulevard in Atlanta [ToNeTo Atlanta readers report the Fulton Industrial location closed "months ago" despite the fact that it's still listed as open on the company's website.] and Glenwood Road in Decatur, among others. There are also a dozen other locations spread across Alabama, North Carolina and Tennessee.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Mrs. Winner's features a menu centered on fried chicken and biscuits, similar to its larger rivals Bojangles, headquartered in Charlotte, and Popeyes, headquartered in Miami.

Mrs. Winner's is the fourth restaurant in the immediate area to close in just the past few months:

Hammocks Trading Company closed July 31 at 7285 Roswell Road

Plant Based Pizzeria "temporarily" closed in July at 8540 Roswell Road

The Rusty Nail closed August 20 at 8549 Roswell Road

The one thing that sets the Mrs. Winner's site apart is that it is equipped with a drive-thru, a feature made even more desirable during the pandemic with chains Shake Shack, Chipotle, Velvet Taco, Bolay and even Sweetgreen, all launching or expanding their drive-thru efforts.

What would you like to see open in place of Mrs. Winner's in Sandy Springs?  What is your favorite fast food chicken chain?  What restaurant in Atlanta do you think makes the best biscuits?

Please share your thoughts below.

The location on Fulton Industrial closed months ago. The signs have been removed from the location and google maps states the location as permanently closed.

This location NEVER did open up their dining room for dine-in service. It was a drive-thru only location and in my opinion one of the reasons it failed.

I'm surprised the Whataburger trolls haven't taken over this post.

I still miss when it was La Strada.

That parcel is approaching "cursed" status, if I'm thinking of the same place. Wasn't it previously Arby's, Locos Deli & Pub, then Bojangles, now this?

Whataburger por favor

Trader Joe's or Whole Foods

Whataburger is a glorified Waffle House or Steak n Shake. 24 hours. Low quality meat. Like a Krystal, but cleaner.

Wal-Mart!

I had no clue there were even any Mrs. Winner's still around.

I don’t know how they stayed open as long as they did. I tried eating there a few times, but the door was always locked. I gave up on them after that. I’m not a drive thru person so can’t say I’m sorry to see them go.

I’m surprised no one has bought it yet and changed the sign cheaply to Mrs Wieners and turned it into a wiener shop.

Before Loco's, it was La Strada, an Italian restaurant. It's actually where my wedding reception was. I think there was also a nondescript sports bar after it dropped the Loco's label.
