The game will soon be up at Round1 in Lithonia. Employees confirm that the entertainment facility will on Sunday, December 4 close for the final time at 10PM. Round1 opened their location at The Mall at Stonecrest (2929 Turner Hill Road) March 4, 2017, in a space created by the combination of several smaller shops. No explanation was given for the closure.
Round One USA, the U.S. branch of Japan-based Round One Entertainment, first entered the American market in 2010 with a location in City of Industry, California, a suburb of Los Angeles. Today the U.S. division includes about 50 facilities across the country offering a variety of activities ranging from bowling, billiards, ping pong and darts to karaoke, arcade games and traditional sports like baseball and basketball via their "Spo-Cha" (Sports Challenge) offering. Round1 also features a restaurant and full bar.
Following the Stonecrest closure, Round1 will operate just one location in metro Atlanta. A combination Round1 + Spo-Cha opened in a large portion of the former Sears department store at Cumberland Mall near Smyrna in March 2021. The Cumberland Round1 spans approximately 85,000 square feet, significantly larger than the Stonecrest outpost.
Are you surprised to see Round1 close at The Mall at Stonecrest? What is your favorite entertainment facility in metro Atlanta? What is your favorite arcade game?

Total ghetto over there.
I'm not terribly surprised since it doesn't seem like that many US cities get two Round1 locations, Atlanta isn't much of an arcade city, and the Stonecrest location never had the traffic the Cumberland location did because Stonecrest is Stonecrest; hopefully we at least get to keep the one spot.
It actually was never ghetto there. Went a few months ago and it was really nice on the inside wit lots of games and activities. The only issue I could tell was it wasnt as packed as you would expect an entertainment spot with so much to do inside to be. Hate to see it go. Wonder what they will be doing with all the arcade games inside.
I'm not surprised and I initially predicted that. No reason was given for the closure but considering the rise in crime in DeKalb County it was inevitable. It appears we don't know how to have good clean fun anymore without an argument or brandishing a gun.
Its not …. Very nice place and i love the views and lights
Its really nice place to just chill and have fun hate to see it go .. wish it got business
It’s sad to see Round 1 go, I thought it would give our youths something to do so they would stay out of trouble. Unfortunately they are the ones who are committing most of the crimes in Dekalb county and the surrounding areas. They are arming themselves and robbing and murdering each other. I guess I’m a little naïve about the situation cause I thought it would solve some of the problems that parents should solve at home!
I had a really fun my husband threw me a really fun bowling and karaoke birthday party there this past June parentheses 2022 parentheses. I also brought my nephews there and they had a ball in 2021 around Thanksgiving break. I think the management and staff at times left something to be desired regarding professionalism, knowledge, customer service. But then again, other staff were excellent, even under pressure for information, and dealing with long lines. I agree, it’s unfortunate for parents of teens that they don’t have a place they can feel comfortable sending them to on a Friday night. I’m sorry for you DeKalb county haters, but many more shootings happen in Buckhead at Lenox mall then happen out here!
I went with my grandchildren and their father a few times. We had laid my granddaughter, 5 her jacket when a woman nicely dressed scooped it up and proceeded to walk away with it without us noticing. When I went to get it she had got a distance away when I walked up to her explaining it was my g. Daughters jacket. It was a size 6 yet she explained that she þhought it was her teenagers jacket and took it by mistake. Very awkward.
Yea I’d have to disagree with this as well. I lived in the Stonecrest/Lithonia area for about 3yrs and went to Round1 multiple times. Great experiences each time but the place was always, dead/ not a lot of customers around. It was a mistake to put a round1 in Lithonia to begin with because the city just lacks something to drive customers in. Other than that I loved Round1
I’ve been several times and I agree that it’s never packed when I’ve gone. I have noticed malfunctions frequently but it was manageable. The bowling was amazing every time. Yes, I hate to see something for the whole family in this area go away. All of the land around Stonecrest too.. we don’t need another car dealership as much as we need something similar to Round 1 to bring the community together.
I really hate they closed this place down. I had frequented it quite often with my family and we always enjoyed ourselves. I wish marketing was better and maybe they would have gotten more traction but really disappointed that it's gone. There's no where left on this side to have good, clean family fun.
It's sad that some view closing as crime related, guns, gangs, etc. The reality is that it just didn't have enough foot traffic to stay afloat, especially with the closure of the movie theater. Sad to see it closed, there just need to be more venues to draw foot traffic to the mall.
