[EXCLUSIVE] Isla & Co. to Debut in December in Buckhead, Secures Second Space

Isla & Co., a new "Australian-inspired" cafe, will open their first of up to three Atlanta area locations next month in Buckhead.  The new restaurant will occupy the 2,740 square foot space in Andrews Square (56 East Andrews Drive) left vacant in 2021 by the closure of beloved vegetarian-friendly eatery SAMA.  Isla & Co. had originally planned to open in April, and later August, but as is so often the case in Atlanta, was forced to push its opening.

According to the Isla & Co. website, the restaurant is slated to debut Friday December 2.

"Isla & Co. was born from the culture of the Australian hospitality industry creating an approachable dining destination in an elevated environment. Serving specialty coffee and brunch dishes inspired by Australian coastal towns by day and a cocktail driven dinner destination by night, Isla & Co. also draws influences from Europe and South East Asia."

According to the Isla & Co. website, the restaurant will be open seven days a week, serving brunch everyday from 9am until 4pm.  Dinner is served nightly 5pm until 11pm.

Breakfast offerings include the Brekkie Roll ($18) soft scrambled eggs, white cheddar, bacon, arugula, peperonata on a toasted brioche bun, served with fries or salad with lunch, including such things as the Quinoa Grain bowl (gf) ($20) roasted brussels sprouts, fennel, feta, delicata squash, sambal emulsion, and choice of grilled chicken or avocado.

The Brooklyn-based restaurant, part of Parched Hospitality Group, currently operates a pair of Isla & Co. locations in New York, one in Fairfield, Connecticut and another in Dallas, Texas.  In addition, a pair of Florida locations are on tap for West Palm Beach and South Beach as well as a second Atlanta location in West Midtown.  The second Atlanta outpost - 976 Brady Avenue - will be larger than Buckhead at about 4,200 square feet.  The restaurant is slated to open in 2023 in place of what was most recently Baffi, from celebrity chef Jonathan Waxman.  Baffi opened in early 2021 but closed quietly earlier this summer.

Have you been to Isla & Co.?  What is your favorite Buckhead area restaurant?  What new restaurant are you most looking forward to?

I just ate at Isla & Co. In Dallas’ Bishop Arts District and it was excellent. I didn’t realize it was a chain.
