[EXCLUSIVE] Nordstrom Finds "Presidential" Home For New Rack Store

On the heels of news that Nordstrom plans to open a new "rack" store in Kennesaw comes news that they will also open one in Snellville.  The new Nordstrom Rack will open in Presidential Markets, an existing shopping center at 1895 Scenic Highway, not far from The Shoppes at Webb Gin.  Real estate sources tell ToNeTo Atlanta that the new store will replace Bed Bath & Beyond, which is currently liquidating and is slated to close in the coming days.

The new Nordstrom Rack in Presidential Markets joins existing outposts of fellow off-price retailers Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Ross Dress For Less, as well as Market by Macy's, a concept store that the legacy department store operator opened last October in a former Office Depot.

Seattle-based Nordstrom (NYSE: JWN) currently operates four Atlanta area locations of its off-price Rack division in Buford, Buckhead, Alpharetta and Dunwoody, with Dunwoody being their newest, having opened in 2013.  ToNeTo Atlanta reported in October that the Kennesaw outpost is slated to open in "Spring 2024."

In addition to the four existing Nordstrom Rack stores in metro Atlanta, the retailer also operates two full-line stores, one in Phipps Plaza in Buckhead, the other in Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody. Nordstrom closed their full-line store at Mall of Georgia in Buford in February 2015.

ToNeTo Atlanta reported in 2018 that Nordstrom was looking to open in place of the OfficeMax in Akers Mill Square near Smyrna but those plans failed to materialize.

Are you pleased to hear that Nordstrom Rack is coming to Snellville?  What is your favorite "off-price" retailer?  What other store or restaurant would you like to see open in Snellville?

Ah yes give Buckhead the high-end boutiques and give the upscale black side of town all the outlets.

I cannot imagine the off-price inventory at the Macy's outpost. Their normal line stuff has deteriorated to K-Mart levels. Used to be a nice store long ago.

Buckhead isn't the "black side of town"? Could've fooled me.

Snellville and Grayson are no longer what they once were, people are moving out of snellville because of increased crime

Snellville is turning to a haven for low income, high crime. Lots of section 8 rentals in snellville
