[EXCLUSIVE] After Debuting at Perimeter Mall, Retailer Looks to Add Lenox Square Store

Popular Spanish fashion brand Mango seems to be joining the tenant lineup at Lenox Square in Buckhead.  A "commercial alteration" permit filed with the City of Atlanta January 10 indicates that the company will spend at least $900,000 for an "interior renovation for a new mercantile tenant."  The permit does not specify a suite or space but does list the size as 5,872 square feet.

Given available and upcoming space in the mall, the most likely space Mango will occupy is some of the current Pottery Barn and/or a portion of the current Banana Republic being given back to the mall.  [More on that here]

Mango this past August entered the Atlanta market with a roughly 8,300 square foot store at Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody.

Mango currently has locations in New York, Florida, Texas, Georgia, and California, and is expected to open five locations in Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania, among other stores, in 2024. Overall, Mango plans to have 40 stores in the U.S. by the end of this year, with a goal for the country to become one of the company’s top-five markets.

Founded by Isak Andic and his brother Nahman Andic in 1984, Mango has today grown into a global brand with nearly 2,700 stores and a presence in 115 markets.

The Barcelona-based company also entered the Houston and Los Angeles markets in 2023, ending the year with 14 stores across the country.

According to Fashion Network, Mango's focus for its U.S. opening will primarily be on its women's collections, except for the Perimeter store, which also features the brand's men's collections.  Mango releases two major collections a year, for spring and fall, which continually get refreshed with new items.

Lenox Square is already home to several other "fast fashion" retailers including Zara, Cotton On and Forever 21, a brand in which mall owner Simon Property Group has a significant stake.

The new Mango store is expected to start construction soon and open later this year.

Are you a fan of Mango?  Have you been to Mango stores in other countries?  Where else in metro Atlanta would you like to see Mango open?

I have not been to Lenox square in probably 5 or more years and I live about 3 miles from it. It’s no longer the luxury mall it once was. Not by a long shot.

No, it’s even more luxurious with more new and fashion forward retailers. Very exciting!

LOL! Nothing says luxury like metal detectors and drug dogs. Lenox is a hot ghetto mess. They need to start charging for parking and validating with proof of purchase.

It sounds like the Dawsonville outlets are more your speed anyway. Enjoy!

How many shootings at the Dawsonville outlets? Heck, probably more people on welfare shopping at Lenox than any outlet mall in the metro area.

I’m sure dope heads taking opioids and fentanyl are shopping at dawnsonville outlets. That may be more to your liking.

@10:28 AM Nah, that's Buckhead also, where the junkies set bridges on fire multiple times per week. Buckhead has the largest homeless population in Metro Atlanta and dingleberry Andre hasn't done sh*t about it.

Maybe the homeless need Midnight Basketball, which seems to be the mayor's solution to every problem.

Move to Texas. They’ll be happy to have you there. Or Florida. This is America, you have the freedom to pack up and leave a town if you hate it. We won’t mind at all!
