After several delays and a few unforeseen challenges - and a pre-opening location pivot - metro Atlanta will later this year welcome a third outpost of healthy fast casual eatery Original ChopShop. Previously slated to open at 10800 Haynes Bridge Road, delivery delays of what would have been a new "white box" space led the Plano-based operator to change their plans.
In an effort to avoid suffering a similar fate to that of Bolay, ChopShop CEO Jason Morgan tells ToNeTo Atlanta they plan to drastically change the exterior to improve its visibility and enhance the existing patio. If all goes well, Morgan said he would like to see Alpharetta open no later than this coming September.
Original ChopShop entered the Atlanta market in November 2022 with an outpost along Peachtree Road near Peachtree Battle. A second location debuted this past August along Cobb Parkway, just south of Cumberland Mall.
The fast-casual eatery's menu features a rather diverse roster of offerings with several protein bowls, wraps, sandwiches, and salads in addition to acai and pitaya bowls, avocado toast, other breakfast wraps and bowls, protein shakes, and cold brew coffee. Fresh juices and lemonades as well as sides like sweet potato hash with kale and onion, plus a kids' menu, are also offered. The restaurant is open throughout the day for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
There are currently twenty-two locations of the Original ChopShop open in Arizona, Georgia, and Texas with seven more, including the Alpharetta outpost, "coming soon," according to the company's website.
Have you been to Original ChopShop? What is your favorite quick-serve healthy eatery? Where in metro Atlanta would you like to see Original ChopShop open next?

I just wonder if that's a good choice. Snooze and Lazy Dog are in the other center and there's plenty of parking and visibility. I understand not wanting to develop a empty space, but I'm not sure it's going to work where they're looking.
I live near the Chop Shop on Peachtree and was not impressed. Very expensive for what it is and it really isn’t that good IMO…
A big problem with the former Bolay site is access, both in and out. Access into the site is good on eastbound Haynes Bridge Road, but danged near impossible for those going westbound on Haynes Bridge Rd unless they know to turn onto the street leading to the mall and two parcels before the site with then having to access the site through the rear. Leaving the site to get back onto Haynes Bridge Rd is also difficult.
Frankly, unless they are getting bargain basement rent prices, the site access problems kills business.
