[OPENING ALERT] First Homesense in Georgia is Opening in May

It's been nearly eight years since we first reported on TJX Company's then new concept store, Homesense. This past May, we reported that they were finally entering the Georgia market, and now that first store is about to open!

The store, a companion to HomeGoods in the same way Marshalls is a companion to TJ Maxx, stocks housewares and home accessories but with a different product assortment than its TJX sibling. Now, with seventy-four stores open across fourteen states, the company will soon open the first of what is expected to be several Atlanta area stores.

The first store is opening in Kedron Village (1245 N. Peachtree Parkway), a Kroger and Target-anchored center in Peachtree City, about 45 minutes south of Atlanta. The new store will open in suite 1245, a 23,401 square foot space most recently home to Bed Bath & Beyond but vacant since the home furnishing retailer's 2023 bankruptcy and liquidation.

According to the Homesense website, the store will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, May 8.

ToNeTo Atlanta reported in January that the company also plans to open a new Homesense in another former Bed Bath & Beyond. In Alpharetta the retailer will open at North Point Marketcenter, a large shopping center at 6050 North Point Parkway near North Point Mall. The Alpharetta store will be 30,000 square feet or 75% of the former Bed Bath & Beyond.

TJ Maxx Cos. (NYSE: TJX) operates several Homesense stores in North Carolina, Florida, and Virginia, and this past October entered Tennessee with a store in Knoxville, with a second at The Avenue in Murfreesboro, just outside Nashville, slated to open May 1.

Sibling brand HomeGoods, launched in 1992, today has nearly 950 locations nationwide, including more than two dozen stores in greater metro Atlanta.
