Del Taco has quietly closed one of its two Kennesaw locations. The corporately owned restaurant, located near the intersection of Barrett Parkway and Cobb Parkway in an outparcel of Kennesaw Marketplace, opened along with the Whole Foods in what then a new center in 2017.
Steve Josovitz of The Shumacher Group is marketing the roughly 2,400 square foot freestanding building (1935 Cobb Parkway NW) for lease. The listing indicates that rent on the space is $6,539.72 monthly and that the existing lease runs until 2047.

Another Del Taco on Chastain Road near Kennesaw State University remains open as do eighteen other locations around the state including another on Cobb Parkway close to Truist Park.
The Kennesaw closure marks at least the sixth in metro Atlanta in recent years for the Lake Forest, California-based chain. The chain previously shuttered units in Buford, Milton, East Cobb and Loganville. The company in late 2019 closed a unit along Mansell Road in Roswell after only nine months in business.
Del Taco was acquired by rival chain Jack in the Box for $585 million in early 2022 but the marriage of the two fast food brands has not gone well with the burger company announcing this past April that they are exploring “strategic alternatives” for Del Taco, potentially including a sale.
Update: Readers indicate and online records confirm that the Del Taco in Fayetteville at 109 Banks Road in Banks Station has also closed.
Are you surprised that Del Taco closed its Milton restaurant? What would you like to see open in place of Del Taco in Milton? Where would you like to see Del Taco open next?

Considering zero effort has been made to promote Del Taco since return to Georgia, can't say surprised not doing that well. Most people just think its a carbon copy of Taco Bell.
Apparently the one in Fayetteville closed last week as well.
The Fayetteville location also closed recently.
I would love to see one in Cumming. Went to the one in Gainesville last week because we were nearby and it was empty but the food was good.
I ate here every couple months since it opened. The food was usually good, but the people that worked there were absolutely terrible. I mean every single person I encountered working the drive-thru for how ever many years it was (6-8?) were all garbage. That's most likely why it failed as IMO the food itself is better than the Taco Bell across the street.
Agree with the other poster that says they have made zero promotion or marketing attempts since returning to the area, which was a while ago. Most that I see seem to be ghost towns. The only one I ever really saw get truly busy was the Smyrna one on the East West Connector. Not sure if it still gets good business to this day though.
