[EXCLUSIVE] Paris Baguette's Next Atlanta Location Will be in Midtown

A new location of Paris Baguette Cafe is coming soon to 1100 Peachtree Street in Midtown.  The new bakery cafe will open in the roughly 2,800 square foot space previously home to Joy Cafe, in the street-level space of the 1100 Peachtree office building.

Joy Cafe, previously located in Buckhead, relocated to Midtown in 2017 and remained open until a legal issue forced its closure in July 2022.  The space reopened at the end of 2022 as Cafe 1933 from restaurant consultant Caleb Giles, but only lasted about a year before closing and creating the opportunity for Paris Baguette to score the space.

South Korean-based Paris Baguette maintains a U.S. headquarters in Bergen County, New Jersey and currently operates several franchises across metro Atlanta.  The first metro location debuted on Buford Highway in Doraville in December 2013.

In the years since, franchises of the chain have opened in Dunwoody (Ashford Lane), Kennesaw, Duluth, Buford (Exchange at Gwinnett), and Suwanee.  The company also has a location on E. Broughton Street in Savannah and has locations coming soon to Vinings and Athens.

At 1100 Peachtree, Paris Baguette joins Dos Caminos, a new Mexican restaurant from Landry's which opened January 26 in a space previously home to Landry's concept The Oceanaire.

In Midtown, Paris Baguette joins Sweet Hut Bakery & Cafe, a local operator of a similar concept, which has an existing location at the Metropolis building (935 Peachtree Street), less than a half mile away.

Pending permitting, all-too-familiar City of Atlanta delays and the hiccups along the way, Paris Baguette Midtown is expected to open sometime before the end of the year.

The Joy Cafe "legal issues" resulted in the owner getting 42 years to life.

Korean cafes are all the rage now. The best one in Atlanta is Confections (3 locations).

Good, we need more Korean cafes in Atlanta since the non-Korean ones close at 3pm. These usually are open until 9-10pm

That's so Atlanta. Take an idea popularized from LA and NYC 15 years ago and try to make it popular in Atlanta.

@anon 1:42PM - Korean cafes (Mozart opened in Duluth over 20 years ago). How is it popularized from LA and NYC? Also even before that you had similar Japanese cafes like Joli Kobe that opened in the 1990s.

And , let me guess, you know because you’re Korean?

They’ve been here for just as long, an Atl has a larger Korean population percentage wise than either of the cities you mentioned.
