Spread Bagelry is finally about to open its long awaited first location in metro Atlanta. The Philadelphia-based brand known for its bagels kettle-boiled in honey water and baked in wood-fired ovens, is slated to open later this week at 47 Irby Avenue in the Buckhead Village.
The roughly 2,800-square-foot space will serve as both a restaurant and production facility, supplying fresh, wood-fired bagels to area shops until Spread Bagelry’s regional commissary comes online. The new location also features a branded mural along Cains Hills Place by local artist Adam Crawford, owner of Cat Eye Creative.
The new Buckhead location marks Spread Bagelry’s latest growth on the heels of its expansion throughout the Southeast including openings in Savannah, Charleston, and Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
Trendy New York bagel shop PopUp Bagel made its Atlanta area debut February 6 along the Atlanta BeltLine and as ToNeTo Atlanta exclusively reported December 16, will also come to Buckhead with a new location along Piedmont Road in Buckhead Landing.
Following the Buckhead debut, Spread Bagelry plans to continue its growth strategy throughout metro Atlanta with upcoming locations reportedly already in the works for Midtown, Marietta/East Cobb, and Dunwoody.
Are you excited for the debut of Spread Bagelry in Buckhead? Do you prefer a New York, Montreal or other style of bagel? Where else in metro Atlanta would you like to see Spread Bagelry open?

Bagelry is the new Brewery apparently...
Not excited about a place that serves up starchy carbs.
Oh wow I can’t wait to try it! I love new bakeries and can’t wait to check out Spread Em Bagelry!
Open at 6am - love to see that, the neighborhood needs that!
I would love an all green veg restaurant. No sugar, no salt, no refined carbs. A great salad of kale, broccoli, beans with lemon juice and garlic. Delicious! Steamed brussels sprouts and cauliflower with some salt free hot sauce. Scrumpsh!
"Spread Em Bagelry"? Seek immediate attention.
@ 12:51, boy I hope I don't live anywhere near you.
I would love to see a TRUE New York Bagel restaurant.
@2:41 you must be fat and eat too many starchy carbs then. Its the only reason you would say that, you know, being fat and lazy.
One could always move to NYC....a real city.
There are tons of them. In New York. About as true as you can get.
Went on opening day. Bagels are amazing! Highly recommend.
Bagel joints are the new yogurt shops. And anything over $3.00 for a hunk of chewy dough is theft.
Try their olive oil bagel. I have never seen bagels cooked in a brick oven, only pizza.
Their bagels are unique and delicious.
