[ALERT] Cracker Barrel Suddenly Closes Metro Atlanta Location After Twenty Years in Business

The Cracker Barrel restaurant at 5580 Windward Parkway in Alpharetta has closed.  The restaurant reportedly closed in recent days with its property actively being marketed for sale.  There was reportedly limited advance warning of the closure and no explanation.

Fulton County property records indicate that the 10,197 square foot restaurant opened in 2006 and occupies a 1.61 acre property.  The property last sold in August 2015 for $4.75M.

This past August, the Lebanon, Tennessee-based chain unveiled updated dining room decor and a simplified logo, neither of which was well received by their core customers.  After only a week, Cracker Barrel scrapped the new logo and reverted to its previous logo after tremendous negative consumer sentiment over the change.

In October, the company announced it was closing fourteen locations of sibling brand Maple Street Biscuits, but the closures did not include any of the brand's six units in Georgia.

Despite the Alpharetta closure, Cracker Barrel continues to operate more than 600 locations across the country, including about 50 in Georgia.

Are you surprised to see Cracker Barrel in Alpharetta close?  What would you like to see open in place of Cracker Barrel in Alpharetta?  What did you think of the failed new Cracker Barrel logo?

Not Surprised! Very difficult to get in and out of that location and with all of the businesses closing around Windward it just didn't have the traffic.
