A growing franchise of Greek yogurt shops is coming to metro Atlanta with at least one location confirmed and others in the works. Go Greek Yogurt, based in California, has secured its first Atlanta area location at Toco Hills shopping center near Decatur.
Go Greek was established by Tanja Subotic, her husband David, and their business partner Jonathan Williams in Beverly Hills, California in 2012. The trio began franchising the concept in 2014.
The business is centered on four main offerings - traditional Greek yogurt, frozen Greek yogurt, yogurt bowls, and smoothies.
Today, there are seven locations open in California with three more coming soon, according to the company's website. Go Greek also has two locations open in Florida with more coming soon. Go Greek entered the New York market this past April with its first location.
The company's website suggests that there are also single units coming soon to Dallas, Texas and Seattle, Washington. There are also international locations in England and Jordan, with several more across the Middle East coming soon.
Go Greek's opening in Toco Hills marks at least the third frozen yogurt shop to open in the plaza and the second one to open in the past several years. In the 90s, when the current Publix space was largely occupied by a Drug Emporium, Freshens operated from a small space near the former movie theater turned Goldberg's. More recently, Menchie's, another California-based franchise, operated from a space nearby but closed in late 2024. Its space is expected to open in the coming months as a new Super Chix.
Longtime Toco Hills residents will also likely fondly recall Gorin's, which primarily featured ice cream, but was located for many years around the corner from where Go Greek is opening.

Go Greek, reportedly a popular treat for the Kardashians, Britney Spears, Lionel Richie, Sofia Vergara, Tyra Banks, Jennifer Aniston, and other celebrities, is definitely priced for Hollywood. It will be interesting to see if the pricing is adjusted for the Atlanta market.
According to the company's online ordering system, traditional Greek yogurt is offered in 7, 10, and 24 ounce containers for $13.99, $16.99, and $33.20, respectively.
Frozen yogurt is offered in 16 and 24 ounce cups at $1.35 per ounce, which according to the website amounts to $20.90 and $34.20, respectively.
Go Greek will likely be the first of the new wave of Greek frozen yogurt shops to open in metro Atlanta but it will likely not be the only one. Spain-based MYKA Greek Frozen Yogurt is also said to be scouting metro Atlanta with at least two other concepts looking to enter the metro, too.
Popular yogurt brand Chobani operates a single Chobani Cafe in SoHo, New York - serving frozen Greek yogurt, classic yogurt creations, smoothies, salads, and bowls - and as much as we love it, they have announced no plans to expand the concept.
The new Go Greek at Toco Hills is slated to open later this Fall with at least one other location near the Beltline being considered.
