Real Shocker Here, eModa Closed At Plaza Midtown

eModa in Plaza Midtown has closed after less than a year in business. I'm shocked the store managed to stay open as long as it did. With a marketing campaign the likes of which we haven't seen since the ill-fated Chima in Buckhead, they seemed to spend far more trying to get paying customers in the store than they could ever hope to recover in sales. Local DJ Scott Cannon opened Thread House in the same space and remained open for about a year but with upwards of 5 thefts during that time, he closed. eModa took over shortly thereafter and threw a "star studded" opening party in February. For a good laugh, check out their Grand Opening video. Pay close attention to the description of the store given by Michelle Miller, Marketing and PR rep for the store. Honestly, I can't tell the difference between eModa and Pure Denim at Lenox Square. Both stores are flashy and high priced and cater to the same "$30,000 Millionaires." eModa started as an online business but began to open brick and mortar stores after the success of the site, an ill-conceived notion if you asked me. It was far easier to rob the store (on multiple occasions), than it would have been to rob the website. Not the first apparel retailer to close in Midtown, (American Apparel anyone?) and certainly not the last. ToNeTo Atlanta

The Trouble here was alot of things....the location though in midtown is not central....the anchor publix though a viable one is not the type to attract clientel for the stores that existed....i spoke with owners and manager both last year at conception and they were not grasping that they needed to embrace the midtown community....there spent large amounts of time through lavis events and promoting at hip hop clubs throughout the city....Emoda had it wrong from the Jump.
