Mystery Atlanta Area Opening Clue # 1

Yesterday I said I would have a major announcement, and I do, but have decided to let you, my readers, have some fun while trying to guess the new opening. We did something similar to this last summer for the upcoming Zaxby's on Roswell Road (Zaxby's corporate now tells me it will open mid-summer) and overall, readers seemed to enjoy it. The planned opening has been on the horizon but its location caught me off guard. New clues (sans photos that would give too much away) will be revealed each day this week and the opening will be revealed Friday morning!

Small in number but large in size,
When I'm open, you won't believe your eyes.

Looked all over and decided on this space,
It seems the move will cause some to displace.

Some information, breaking news and industry scoop is only shared via my Twitter and Facebook accounts so "follow" and "like" me so is not to miss a beat!

Are we guessing? I want it to be an Anthropologie in Midtown, but I bet that's not it. Here's hoping it isn't yet another hotel in this city of infinite empty rooms!

This is too easy...

Regal Cinemas in Atlantic Station will expand by taking over the Ten Pin Alley and Dolce Enoteca spaces. Fox Sports Grill will move to what is currently Geisha House. Lego Land (possibly) will take what is currently Fox Sports Grill.

===================================

Small In Number:
Only Four IMAX Theaters in Metro Atlanta (if you include Fern Bank and the fact that Atlantic Station already has one).

Large In Size:
IMAX Theaters are obviously larger.

Looked All Over:
Doesn't make sense to add to convert an existing theater or build on to a building... unless there is a space already available.

It seems the move will cause some to displace:
Adios Ten Pin Alley and Dolce. Also Fox Sports Grill would relocate within the Atlantic Station development.

Justification and Rumor Mill...
Atlantic Station is trying to get Lego Land to come to Atlantic Station into the Fox Sports Grill space. Fox Sports would move from their current space to what is currently Geisha House. The Dolce Group's three Atlantic Station concepts would no longer be in business.

Why this makes sense... it's been common knowledge on this site and others that The Dolce Group doesn't pay their rent. Also, Fox Sports Grill is having financial issues overall and recently closed almost all of their locations. Lastly, it's no mystery that the new owners want to give Atlantic Station a much needed overhaul and moving Fox Sports to the Geisha House corner and bringing in a big win for Atlanta with Lego Land would do just that.

I hate to spoil it, but Lego Land was looking all over including Atlantic Station, but has decided to open at Phipps!

Kevin Gillespie to open up his BBQ restaurant in Atlantic Station? Antico moving to Atlantic Station?

Let's hope this announcement is more "major" than a Zaxby's.

Guess I'll just respond to everyone all at once...

Yes, the opening was Legoland on the third level of Phipps Plaza. Some readers called me out for being late and "beaten to the punch", so be it. I had the story last week and took the time necessary to confirm its location both at Phipps and on the third level more specifically. (SPG's local PR firm confirmed it was in the works but claimed it was not yet a done deal) My eventual post included facts and educated conjecture absent from other blogs and sites. Think what you will, say what you want...more often than not, it is the other sites that come to mine for content, NEVER vice versa.
