A new Denny's should open "early next year" in Snellville. The new restaurant, located at 2160 Scenic Highway, occupies a former Duron Paints & Wallcovers space. The 6,300 square foot space is being heavily renovated to be converted to a restaurant space.  Durham, North Carolina-based RWDT Foods Inc. previously announced plans to open other metro Atlanta locations in Brookhaven, Douglasville and Hapeville.  The Brookhaven location (in a former Captain D's/current car dealership) was supposed to have opened months ago, but as far as I know has not yet begun work.

Sources say the demolition of the former Executive Park Hotel is scheduled for November 8th, before 8AM.  Children's Healthcare of Atlanta purchased the property last year and will replace the old hotel and related structures with facilities for their organization.

Dick's Sporting Goods is making headway in transforming the former Kmart in East Cobb.  The sporting goods retailer will occupy a large portion of the shuttered discount store and is slated to open this coming spring.  The next closest Dick's is in Kennesaw on Ernest Barrett Parkway.
