Eatery to close temporarily.
ROXX Tavern, which opened in a former Chili's (later Twisted Taco) on Northlake Parkway in Tucker in late May, closed Sunday night. According to an email, the restaurant is closed temporarily.
Dean Chronopoulos, who owns ROXX says...
"...the Northlake ROXX Tavern is doing fine. ROXX is where I thought it would be at this time. We have had a great outpouring of local community support which I am very much grateful."
"I believe in Tucker, and always will. Which is why, this closing is only for the short term. While the Northlake ROXX is temporarily closed, I will be doing more improvements to the location (signage, patio, painting, etc.). It will re-open as ROXX Tavern or maybe another concept, but I will be back. And it will be soon (a month-ish)."
During the temporary closure, Chronopoulos invites guests to dine at the original ROXX Tavern (a former McDonald's) on Cheshire Bridge Road. According to the email, the original ROXX "will continue to remain open forever."
ROXX Tavern does not operate a website of its own nor does it maintain a twitter account or facebook page. A fan of the Cheshire Bridge location maintains the domain RoxxFanclub.com which acts as the main online resource for information on the restaurant.
Did you frequent the Tucker location of ROXX? Do you think ROXX will reopen? If ROXX remains closed, what would do well in its place?

Not a surprise! With poor service and a staff with snotty attitudes it doesn't bode well for return business or developing a following.
I went for lunch once and service was *terrible*. I've been to the Cheshire Bridge location many times and it's great. Will be interesting to follow...
In talking with a friend that works at the Midtown Roxx, they have been working both locations with enough service staff for just over one location. Maybe this will give them a chance to get the staffing levels up to a proper level so this location can succeed as well.
This location is basically the antithesis of the Midtown location. It's bad enough that I'll be surprised if they can turn it around.
Location is bad, that spot has a curse on it. Staffing was strange, especially if you want to attract and keep a gay male clientele.
Why close it if it will be back as Roxx? There's more to this than what we're hearing. If Dean wants this location to be successful then he needs to make it a sports bar and revamp the menu. Maybe Dean should cut his losses, sell Roxx II and concentrate on the Cheschire location. Hire more staff so that the current staff is not overworked. Turnover has been huge lately and it's showing.
Also why not use social media? Why not have a website? Seems like poor planning on the owners part.
Service Service Service the key to success! The CBR location has lost a half dozen long time servers and service has taken a nosedive the last two visits. Not a good way to attract and keep repeat customers.
Anyone ever seen a restaurant "temporarily close" because it was doing well?
Looks like just another bogus "closed for remodeling" sign to me.
I hear that the Tucker Roxx is now going to be a Hudson Grill.
It's official - will now become a Hudson Grille. Tucker Dude-Bro's are grinning.

Dean sent out an e-mail earlier today saying that he's rebranding Roxx Tucker as a Hudson Grille.
I find it pretty laughable that he always rails against Metrotainment...and now he's partnering with them.
Dean "sold his soul" for a paycheck as the newest operating partner for Hudson Grille at the former Roxx Tucker location.
