[EXCLUSIVE] La Madeleine Slated to Shutter Another Suburban Spot

Dallas, Texas-based La Madeleine Country French Cafe plans to close its location in East Cobb.  The restaurant, located at 4101 Roswell Road, Suite 812, will close permanently as of the close of business on May 22, according to employees at the cafe.

The bakery and cafe eatery has occupied a highly visible endcap space at the Home Depot / TJ Maxx / HomeGoods / Sprouts Farmers Market-anchored Providence Square shopping center for well over twenty years.

It's unclear what may be in store for the 3,500 square foot space, but sources tell ToNeTo Atlanta that at least one restaurant brand is already vying for the space.

(ToNeTo Atlanta was made aware of the imminent closure in March but elected to wait until employees were informed to publish this post.)

La Madeleine is a division of Dallas-based LeDuff America (the American arm of French restaurant conglomerate Groupe Le Duff).

La Madeleine has in years past closed several units around metro Atlanta.

The company closed its longstanding cafe in Sandy Springs/Dunwoody this past January after more than 25 years in business.

La Madeleine previously closed metro area locations in Buckhead (now home to Velvet Taco and Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream), in Marietta (now Overture Powers Ferry 55+ apartments), and in Vinings (becoming Cotto Modern Italian).

ToNeTo Atlanta reported in December 2014 that La Madeleine was planning to open at Phase Two of Emory Point, but that never materialized.

Following the East Cobb closure, la Madeleine continues to operate two locations in metro Atlanta: Duluth near Gwinnett Place Mall and Buford near the Mall of Georgia.  There are also several kiosk locations at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Are you surprised to see la Madeleine close its location in East Cobb?  What would you most like to see open in place of la Madeleine in East Cobb?  What is your favorite casual eatery in East Cobb?

Wow.

Had breakfast, lunch and dinner three many times.
Great place to type a report or two and meet with friends and family.

Sorry that it's closed.

Best of luck to the EEs.

I am surprised to see another one close. I hope the Gwinnett location keeps remaining open

They should go ahead and exit the entire market.
