As ToNeTo Atlanta continues to be your number one source for updates on the Atlanta market expansion of Raising Cane's, we are pleased to report that another Raising Cane's is moving forward! A new Raising Cane's is planned for 4475 Roswell Road, where it will replace the former Three Dollar Cafe restaurant that relocated this past March to the former Snooze in the nearby Chastain Market shopping center.
ToNeTo Atlanta first reported on the potential new Raising Cane's this past October when we shared news of Three Dollar's relocation. Sources suggest that the deal to put Raising Cane's in Chastain Park had "died" at some point, but is very much back on, with the chain having filed an application April 7 with the City of Atlanta's Office of Zoning and Development for a special use permit to provide outdoor dining at the restaurant.
If it happens, the new Chastain Park Raising Cane's could mark the chain's second in Buckhead and third overall location in the city of Atlanta.
ToNeTo Atlanta exclusively reported in November 2024 that Raising Cane's plans to open new locations on Piedmont Road in Buckhead and on 14th Street in West Midtown where in both cases the chain is replacing former Krystal restaurants. The Piedmont and 14th Street restaurants are moving forward, but at a glacial pace, with a company representative telling ToNeTo Atlanta that both are slated for 2027 openings.
Previously with just one Georgia location in Athens, Raising Cane's has in recent years opened several new locations throughout the greater metro Atlanta area, and now has more than a dozen in the state.
ToNeTo Atlanta has reported on several other upcoming Cane's locations, including the aforementioned Buckhead and West Midtown units, as well as another planned for Smyrna. The chain is also opening in Valdosta.
For those unfamiliar - aka non-"Caniacs" - of which there don't seem to be many, Raising Cane's features a very simple menu with a focus on fried chicken fingers. Menu offerings also include a fried chicken sandwich, crinkle-cut fries, Texas Toast, coleslaw, and not much else. University of Georgia graduate Todd Graves, along with his business partner Craig Silvey, opened the first Raising Cane's in Baton Rouge near the LSU campus in 1996.
Earlier this year, the company surpassed 1,000 Raising Cane's restaurants across 44 states, plus Guam and Washington D.C.
Are you excited about the opening of Raising Cane's in metro Atlanta? Who do you think makes the best chicken tenders? Where else in metro Atlanta would you like to see Raising Cane's open?
