[ALERT] Alo Yoga Opening This Week at Avalon, This Fall at Perimeter Mall and Ponce City Market

Alo Yoga, a Los Angeles-based athletic apparel company, plans to quadruple its presence in Atlanta by the end of the year.  The brand entered the Atlanta market with a shop at Lenox Square in Buckhead in 2023 and will on Friday June 26th officially open its second location at Avalon in Alpharetta.

On top of those two openings, the brand is also opening a new store at Ponce City Market, and we have learned that it is also opening at Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody.  Both the Ponce City Market and Perimeter Mall stores are slated to open this fall.

Whereas the Ponce City Market store was revealed in April, the Perimeter Mall store was unknown at that time with it set to occupy the former Gap on the second floor of the Dunwoody mall following the retailer's May closure after several decades in business.

In Perimeter, like in the other malls and centers in which Alo is opening, it joins a number of existing players in the "athleisure" game including Aerie, Fabletics, and Lululemon.

The "get" of Alo for Perimeter Mall is surely a shot in the arm given neighboring High Street's aspirations of being a formidable challenger to the mall.  Alo was previously linked to the fledgling mixed-use project, but like other retailers, it did not move forward.

Alo, which stands for "Air, Land, Ocean," started in 2007 and currently operates more than 150 stores globally.

In addition to apparel for men and women, Alo offers a variety of other products such as books, jewelry, sunglasses, and even a cosmetics collection.  Alo, which stands for "Air, Land, Ocean," started in 2007 and currently operates more than 150 stores globally.

The company debuted a line of luxury bags this past fall with prices starting at $1,200 and topping out at $3,600.  Unlike rival Lululemon, the company is not public, so it's unclear just how well the bags have performed, but we haven't seen them in Marshalls or TJ Maxx...yet.

What is your favorite yoga-centric athletic apparel retailer?  Are you pleased to see Alo Yoga expanding in metro Atlanta?  What is your favorite shopping center/mall in metro Atlanta?
