A new Indian restaurant is coming soon to Sandy Springs. Hashtag India, a "Modern Indian" restaurant headquartered in McKinney, Texas, near Dallas, will in about a month open its second Atlanta area restaurant. The new Hashtag India will open at 6650 Roswell Road, alongside a Goodwill thrift store.
Hashtag India's existing Atlanta area location opened in Johns Creek / Suwanee in February 2025. In Johns Creek, Hashtag India is located in a strip center where it occupies a 4,900 square foot endcap space. The restaurant received an embarrassing 51 in its initial routine health score in March 2025, but got a 100 on its reinspection, and today has a 4/5 star rating on Google with more than 1000 reviews.
Overall, the chain has thirteen locations across seven states, with the majority of them in their home market of Texas.
Texas is seemingly fertile ground for Indian restaurants with Desi District which opened a few miles away in Ashford Place and Simply South, which is opening soon in Park Place, also a few miles away, both also from Texas.
Are you excited for opening of Hashtag India in Sandy Springs? Have you been to the Hashtag India in Johns Creek / Suwanee? What is your favorite Indian dish?

No, thanks.
Congratulations and Best Wishes
Maybe, but I don't like curry, so No.
I love Indian food but I'm definitely concerned about the ability to maintain a decent food safety rating. That is a huge space I hope they may get. I don't think they will.
Thanks. Same to you
Why? Is that because you think Indian restaurants don’t have good food safety standards?
This is right across the street from Bawarchi so there’s that
That's going to make it tougher along with the huge space and rent.. Barwachi is good.
Unfortunately, the franchises that have been opening have not has a good rating record. I wish them the best but it's a huge space and a good Indian restaurant across the street will be difficult to overcome.
I know that working near some of them, they surely don't have good personal cleanliness standards.
6/28/26 @ 2:49 - restaurant Vatica received a score of 57 on June 17 for a variety of violations, including food-handling and storage issues, food build-up on surfaces throughout the kitchen and the presence of roaches.
I ate there and it didn’t make me poop at all.
Can someone reach out to them and let them know they are also going to fail and lose a lot of money? I mean what is the rent on a 4100 square foot place? $30k? And they had a poor health inspection? And another Indian restaurant literally across the street in Bawarchi?
An Indian restaurant got a bad health score? How shocking.
Why is it “shocking?” What if it was a White American restaurant? Would it be shocking?
Don’t act like you don’t know Indian restaurants are well known for being filthy, disgusting places.
This space cries out for a well run brewpub of sorts. Shame.
Don’t act like you aren’t a racist.

Ooh. You should try the Panchagavya. Chef's Kiss!
It will be Hard to compete with Bawarchi.
7:56 who didn’t? But is this all you got? By all means, go eat the unwashed hands food.
When is it opening
Hashtag has its advantages like quick snacks, much bigger menu than Bawarchi. So it will not be very hard.
Yaaaaas! That place is so good. I wish them the best. Their other locations are too far and sometimes too packed. So I’m ready !
I think Bawarchi was ok, nothing amazing. Hopefully this one will be better.
