Ten years after closing the doors of its original location, O4W Pizza has now also closed in Duluth. The New Jersey-style pizzeria opened at 3117 Main Street in Duluth in July 2016, and quietly closed in recent days, according to locals in the area.
The restaurant got its name from its first location which was inside the Irwin Street Market (660 Irwin Street) in Atlanta's Old 4th Ward neighborhood. Owner Anthony Spina debuted the eatery in January 2015 and closed in June 2016 about a month before opening in Duluth. Spina and O4W Pizza were most well known for their "Grandma Pie."
Spina returned to intown Atlanta with Nina+Rafi's, a Detroit-style pizza restaurant he opened along the Atlanta Beltline Eastside Trail with business partner Billy Streck in 2018. Spina was "forced out of the creative process in the kitchen" at Nina+Rafi in late 2020 although he still maintained a minority stake in the business. Nina+Rafi closed in April 2025 and its space is today occupied by an outpost of Eclipse di Luna.
Spina seems to have for a time operated a satellite location of O4W Pizza in a small food hall in Miami Beach, but online records suggest that it was not open long.

This was the best New Jersey-style pizza I've ever had in ATL. Spina worked in multiple pizza joints and old-timey Italian restaurants at the Jersey Shore that I know from personal experience, and he was able to duplicate their food at a higher, artisan level of quality. This is a sad loss.
Well, shoot! This pizza brought back immediate memories of the lighter than air, thick chewy crusted Sicilian pies I recall as a kid on Long Island.
Probably one of the best in Atlanta!
There was a time they were the best. You’d go in and the place was hoping and the vibe was fun. Then they closed the dinning area and it just never felt the same. Quality of the pizza suffered as well and it didn’t seem like they cared anymore. Not sure what happened, but I hope they figure it out somewhere down the line.

I've lived in Duluth since 2020 and noticed that this place was well liked early on. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to try it. I don't think it was near the areas I normally go and if I saw it on doordash, I probably felt it wasn't worth the price or fees. We have a ton of pizza places around here and I tend to stick to a few places when I do want pizza, which is more seldom these days.
Fame got to his head and while he made amazing pizza, it appeared that he couldn't run/had no interest in running the business side of things. Last I heard was he sold the joint a while back ago.
I had a terrible dine in experience years ago. Wife and I were seated under a leaky pipe. We didn’t notice it at first because it was in the middle of the table and a bit dark in the room. When the pizza came and placed in the middle of the table is when we noticed dripping onto the pizza. I alerted the staff and they were completely nonchalant about it. Said it was the hvac pipe so it was clean water. They moved us to a different table with the same pizza. No apology, no offer to comp or replace. I mustered two bites and left the overpriced pizza and never returned. Could have left a review but not a fan of leaving negative reviews unless absolutely necessary; waited nearly a decade to get this off my chest lol.
As someone who would use Jersey pizza as a benchmark for how good pizza in other places would be, this place was one of the ones that got me excited about pizza in the south. We made it a family tradition to grab a pie and sit in the little patio on the side of the building every Sunday. It did feel like the last few times we went, the pizza started to fall off.. taste was okay but cook and texture wasn’t really “running on all cylinders”. Sad to see it go, it was an easy favorite within 20 miles of ATL
Definitely sad, loved their Jersey style pizza. They used to have the best Detroit style.in Atlanta, but IMO, Dantes Pizzeria & Trattoria is better. Never liked the Detroit at Nina+Rafi, way too dense.
