Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant is planning to open its next Atlanta area location in Dunwoody. The upscale American restaurant with a focus on wine is opening not far from Perimeter Mall at Perimeter Village.
Cooper's Hawk entered the Atlanta market in February 2025 with a location in Mansell Crossing near North Point Mall in Alpharetta.
The Dunwoody location will offer an indoor dining area with seating for about 260 guests, as well as a covered patio that can accommodate an additional 60 or so guests. The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner as well as weekend "brunch & bubbles" service with a "contemporary American menu, infused with global flavors."
The new restaurant, which should open by the end of 2027, joins the recently opened Patrones Taqueria & Bar and the upcoming Kroger in the sprawling Dunwoody shopping center.
Founder Tim McEnery opened the first Cooper's Hawk in Orland Park, a Chicago suburb, in 2005. Despite McEnery being just 29 at the time of the first opening, investor confidence in the brand has allowed him to expand to seventy-two restaurants across fifteen states.
The Cooper's Hawk website suggests that beyond Atlanta, the chain has at least five more restaurants in the works, including one in Florida, already its second biggest market with sixteen units, behind Illinois with nineteen.
The company is headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois, a suburb southwest of Chicago. Cooper's Hawk operates a central wine production facility in Woodridge, Illinois. Each restaurant stores and displays barrels of Cooper's Hawk wine, which undergo the aging process from a few months up to 18 months.
Cooper's Hawk also offers a monthly "wine club," whereby members pay a monthly fee to receive new wine each month. The restaurant has over the years received over 600 wine awards from various local, national, and international wine competitions, according to the Cooper's Hawk website.
