Zaxby's to Hatch Next Year in Norcross

Zaxby's is opening a new location in Norcross.

Athens-based Zaxby's will join Atlanta-based RaceTrac as committed tenants to the redevelopment project on Jimmy Carter Boulevard, just off Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.  The new tenants are part of a larger redevelopment of the Veridan Office Park.  A total of three structures  were demolished for the project, leaving 13 remaining further down Jimmy Carter, to the right of the redevelopment.

Plans call for at least two other food users for the project, a quick serve restaurant, and possibly a fast casual or casual dining restaurant.

RaceTrac is scheduled to open in December with Zaxby's likely to follow early next year.

Charlotte-based Bojangles' is opening a new location about a half mile away, closer to Peachtree Corners. About three tenths of a mile away, a Popeyes is already open in a freestanding building within an LA Fitness anchored center.

Zaxby's has opened opened a number of new metro area locations over the past few years and has at least one other under construction.

Zaxby's opened a new location on North Druid Hills Road near North DeKalb Mall last summer and also added locations in Buckhead and Chamblee.  In Buckhead, Zaxby's opened on Roswell Road across from The Fresh Market and in Chamblee, Zaxby's (eventually) opened in a previously undeveloped outparcel of Lowe's Home Improvement.

Most recently, a new location opened on Ponce de Leon Avenue in midtown.  Wisely, the operator opted to adjust the typical operating hours of the fast food chicken chain.  The midtown location's later hours have proved thus far to be wise, as I witnessed a line of cars around the restaurant this past weekend at 2am.  (The restaurant stays open til 1am during the week, 3am during the weekends.)

A new location on Buford Highway just outside the perimeter, is currently under construction and is currently scheduled to open September 2nd.

What other eateries would you like to see open in the project?  What other businesses should be added to the project to make it more appealing to you?  What would you like to see replace the shuttered BJ's Wholesale Club across the street?  Please share your thoughts below.

Were the aforementioned cars of the cadillac and caprice classic variety featuring spinning rims?

It looks like the Zaxby's on Buford Highway, just otp is open now. The Krispy Kreme has lights, looks like it's mostly done, and hopefully will only need another 2-4 weeks tops.
