[WOW] Loyal Q & Brew Closes Alpharetta Restaurant, Property For Sale

Loyal Q and Brew has closed its restaurant in Alpharetta.   Located at 3655 Old Milton Parkway, the barbecue restaurant and bar reportedly closed in recent days with no notice on any of the restaurant's social media pages.

The Alpharetta restaurant opened February 20, 2018 and was the second of two locations for the Atlanta-based business.  The first location, situated in an endcap of Parkaire Landing in East Cobb, debuted in August 2017 before ditching barbecue in favor of traditional tavern fare and becoming Loyal Tavern in March 2019.  Just a few months later, in June 2019, the restaurant closed for good.  Their former space is today occupied by McCray's Tavern.

Former Taco Mac executives Susan "Susie" Oddo (who served as the company's President and COO from 2009-2014) and Bob Campbell, Taco Mac's founder, reunited to create Loyalty Market Concepts in 2016, owner of Loyal Q and Loyal Tavern.

One other Loyal Tavern, which opened in June 2018 on Canton Street in historic downtown Roswell, remains open.

Loyal Q's closure follows the late December closure of Slope's BBQ, just off Peachtree Boulevard in Alpharetta, after 26 years in business.

The Alpharetta property, first built in 2001, was home to 5 Seasons Brewing between 2006 and June of 2017, but was sold after its owners "got an offer we couldn't refuse."  An affiliate of Loyalty Concepts purchased the property in June of 2017 for $2.5 million.

The property is currently being offered for sale, although a lease option is possible, too.  The listing shows the property is roughly 1.5 acres, and the restaurant building is about 9,500 square feet.  The property was first listed this past June for $4.1 million.  The listing was lowered once on October 4 to $3.95 million and a second time on October 22 to $3.495 million.

Delbar owner Fares Kargar in July 2022 paid $2.725 million for a 6,800 square foot building on roughly 1.7 acres at 4120 Old Milton Parkway, about a mile from the Loyal Q property.  A little less than a year later, Kargar in May 2023 opened what was then the second location of his popular Middle Eastern restaurant at the Old Milton property.

Are you surprised that Loyal Q closed in Alpharetta?  What would you like to see open in place of Loyal Q in Alpharetta?  What is currently your favorite barbecue in all of metro Atlanta?

This was originally a Buckhead Brewery & Grill. There were three other locations - Cumming, Stockbridge and Peachtree City.

Oh well , we don’t have restaurants on the east side, look like going north didn’t work either, over saturation.

Have the chef cook more food at home for you. You pay him a 6 figure salary and free room and board. He should cook everything.

Demographics of the area are rapidly changing.

SmokeJack on the Alpharetta square is better than Loyal-Q ever was. It’s a cool building and I think it could do well as a steakhouse/bar if they provide great service. I’ve noticed that even higher end restaurants don’t have great service very often. Rays was not great last time I went; different from all the other times I went.

Smokejack is pretty good, but also overpriced. However, they have the trendy location where people expect that. (Their satellite "Jacks Feed Store" down hwy 9 is a bit more my speed, but I like Dreamland too, so what do I know.)

Not surprised. This place was not good at all. One time their POS was down, and they wanted to write down everybody's credit card numbers to charge them later when it was working, lol.

Really? How?

No matter how hard you work at hiring and training good servers/wait staff etc it is almost impossible to assemble a full staff that will do all the little things to be successful.

And that’s why everyone should stay home and eat leftovers
