[EXCLUSIVE] Two Food Stalls Flee Floundering Food Hall at Phipps

In a shocking turn of events, two more eateries have closed at the Food Hall at Phipps.  Mad Dads Philly's and Stackhouse Burgers & Shakes, both of which were already replacement stalls, closed quietly earlier this week.

Mad Dads Philly's opened in late March 2025, replacing Sam's Crispy Chicken, while Stackhouse opened last July.  Both concepts were operated by entrepreneur Tony Sharpe.  Online posts suggest that Mad Dads remains open at Halidom Eatery in East Atlanta and at Roswell Junction in Roswell.  Stackhouse was a concept Sharpe created for Phipps Plaza and seems not to have been expanded elsewhere.

The Food Hall at Phipps, originally known as Citizens Culinary Market, has seen more than its fair share of turnover and despite having several Atlanta influencers shill for them, seems to have experienced limited improvement in traffic [sales].

As the old adage goes, "you never get a second chance at a first impression," and for most, their first impression of the Food Hall was that it was a disappointment.

The food hall has a collective 3.6 star rating on Google with just 168 reviews, the most recent of which was a month ago.

In our visits to the food hall, most food stalls seem incredibly slow, with staff bored on their phones, with the exception of the bar, which seems to have a decent business and attentive staff.

According to the Phipps Plaza website, the food hall's current stalls are: Lokma Mediterranean Kitchen, Wasabi Sushi & Ramen, and Pizza Jeans, with "more coming soon."  Another part of the website suggests that Mad Dads and Stackhouse are still open and operating, while neither mentions Beanissimo, which replaced Cultivate, which replaced Ella Mia, and is still open.

What are your thoughts on the changes at the Food Hall at Phipps Plaza?  What has been your experience at the Food Hall?  Do you think the food hall can be saved?

Please share your thoughts below.

What a surprise. NOT!

Unfortunately when a mall (no matter how ritzy it is) gets a reputation for having a ghetto black clientele (and I’m a 55 year old black female), there’s no going back, they can open fancy restaurants, open high end stores, renovate, but the fact is Phipps and Lenox are not attracting wealthy white and Asian customers anymore and that will ultimately be its downfall. It is what it is.

Anyone who posts here and says “I’m black” so they can say whatever racist nonsense they want to say and try to make it sound good……is not black.

People just don't go out anymore and pay outrageous prices for food thanks to the Trump inflation from the Trump virus and Trump tariffs and the Trump war in Iran. People just stay at home and stare at their dumb phones all day and be brainwashed by right wing propaganda

Honey, you know good and damn well that Phipps has turned ghetto. it does not matter if the person who posted that is white, black, yellow or green, ghetto black thugs will turn an an upscale area upside down. Facts are not racist.

Or they can go to Atlanta and get robbed.

Or they can stay home and clutch their pearls and shake in terror of anyone who is not white, male, republican, straight and christian.
