[WOW] Birmingham Restaurant Group "Temporarily Closes" Several Restaurants, Two in Georgia

It seems Hero Doughnuts  & Buns (Hero Diner) might need a hero of their own.  The Birmingham-based eatery has "temporarily closed" both of its Atlanta area units and none of the locations of the chain are currently operating.  It's unclear when or if either Atlanta area location will reopen, but the longer they stay closed, the less likely a reopening seems.  

[ALERT] Entire Smokey Bones Brand Goes Up in Flames, All Restaurants Now Closed

On Tuesday, Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill, a national chain restaurant, closed all of its remaining restaurants.  The casual chain, created by restaurant powerhouse Darden in 1999, peaked at about 130 restaurants but had shrunk to about 20 as of this week.

[EXCLUSIVE] Buckhead Brewing Bound for Big Buckhead Village Building

A new American restaurant is looking to open in the Buckhead Village where a Mexican restaurant recently closed.  Buckhead Brewing & Lodge plans to open at 128 East Andrews Drive where Chido & Padre's and The Blind Pig Parlour Bar closed this past December after about seven years in business.

[SAYONARA] JINYA Ramen Restaurant Runs Out of Steam in Roswell

The JINYA Ramen Bar in Roswell has closed after less than a year in business.  Located at 1013 Alpharetta Street, JINYA opened its Roswell location August 4, 2025 and closed as of April 26, according to an employee at another metro JINYA location.

[ALERT] New Bagel Business Bound For Brookhaven, Pizza and Pastries too

A new bagel shop named "Dish's Bagels" is coming soon to Brookhaven.  The new shop - being opened by local mortgage broker turned bagel baker Chad Dishner - is under construction at 1410 Lake Hearn Drive at the new AMLI Brookhaven apartment complex.

[ALERT] NaanStop Has Stopped Serving at Atlantic Station

NaanStop has closed its Atlantic Station restaurant after about seven years in business.  The quick-serve Indian eatery was located at 265 18th Street, next to Gyu-kaku, and across from Pho 24 and Salata.

It appears that not only did Chick-fil-A close its longstanding outpost in the food court at Town Center at Cobb in Kennesaw on March 31, but they also closed their longstanding outlet in the food court of North Point Mall in Alpharetta, too.

The Gap store at Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody is closing.   The store is not yet advertising the closure nor is there any special sale, but store employees - referring to it as a "soft closing" - indicate that the store is to close sometime in May.

[WOW] Painted Tree Marketplace Abruptly Closes All Stores Including Three in Metro Atlanta

Painted Tree Marketplace abruptly closed all of its more than sixty locations across the country Tuesday.  The Arkansas-based company did not specify a reason for the sudden closures, nor did they give any warning to the thousands of vendors that operated their own small businesses from within Painted Tree stores.

A new location of Moxie Burger is on tap for Chastain Market (4600 Roswell Road) in Sandy Springs.  The new burger spot will open in a roughly 3,300 square foot space that was part of the former Tupelo Honey Cafe.  This would mark the locally owned chain's first new location since they opened on DeKalb Avenue in Candler Park in May 2023.

Another Atlanta area location of women's clothing and accessories retailer Talbots is due to close.  The Talbots at Peachtree Battle shopping center is expected to close on April 23 after several decades in business.   Employees at the store indicate that there are currently no plans for any special "liquidation" sale.

A vacant Buckhead building could soon house one of the first new Buckhead Life Restaurant Group (BLRG) concepts in metro Atlanta in nearly two decades.  111 West Paces Ferry Road, located at the northeast corner of West Paces Ferry Road and East Andrews Drive, is where Buckhead Life is looking to open "Panos' Restaurant," according to plans filed with Buckhead’s SPI‑9 Development Review Committee (DRC).
