Middle Eastern restaurant Rina has closed after nearly seven years in business along the Atlanta Beltline. The restaurant, located at the Ford Factory Lofts (699 Ponce de Leon Avenue Suite #9), opened on January 13, 2020 and closed effective October 8, according to a now ex-employee of the restaurant and confirmed by signage on the door.
The Tel Aviv beach cafe-inspired restaurant has not commented publicly on the closure or any reason for it. Coverage at the time of the 2020 opening indicated Baum signed a ten-year lease on the roughly 2,700 square foot space.
ToNeTo Atlanta did observe several recent one-star reviews left on the restaurant's Google page which seem to have been left due to Baum's Israeli background (likely by those that never dined at the restaurant) rather than from actual diners.
It's unfortunate that people resort to such behavior rather than finding common ground through food.
A second Rina which opened in place of Goldberg's Bagel at Avalon in Alpharetta in November 2024, closed in December 2025, and is now home to NFA Burger.
Rina was part of Oliva Restaurant Group from chef and restauranter Tal Baum and was named for her grandmother. Baum, a finalist for Restaurateur of the Year by the Georgia Restaurant Association (GRA) at the 2025 Georgia Restaurant Association Crystal of Excellence (GRACE) Awards, continues to operate Atrium and Bellina Alimentari in Ponce City Market and Carmel in the Buckhead Village District in Buckhead.
Are you surprised to see Rina close at the Ford Factory Lofts? What would you like to see open in place of Rina? What is your favorite restaurant along the Atlanta Beltline?
