[ALERT] A Pizza Shop Featuring New Haven Style Pies is Coming to Marietta

A new kind of pizza shop is coming soon to metro Atlanta.  Ah-Beetz New Haven Pizza, a pizza franchise based in Delray Beach, is opening the first of what could be several locations in Georgia.  The new restaurant is located at 125 Barrett Parkway in Marietta.

The name Ah-Beetz is the phonetic spelling of the word "apizza" — the type of pies you'll find in New Haven, from which the restaurant's founder, Nick Laudano, hails.

Laudano opened the first location in Delray Beach in 2017, later expanding to a larger location within the same center in 2024.  According to the Ah-Beetz website, there are currently four locations open - all in Florida - with online reports indicating a fifth is coming soon to Port Saint Lucie.

The Marietta restaurant will be located in Barrett Creek Plaza, a small strip center already home to several restaurants such as Buffalo Wild Wings, Dos Bros Fresh Mexican Grill, and Cheeseburger Bobby's.  The new Ah-Beetz replaces the locally owned Twisted Kitchen, which has now closed all of its locations after earlier closures in Midtown and Smyrna.

Work is already underway to transform the 2,000 square foot space into the new pizza shop with plans to open in August.  Emanuele Cardaci and a group of partners are bringing the franchise to Marietta with plans to open additional units in the suburbs and potentially downtown Atlanta in the months and years to come, according to a post Cardaci made on LinkedIn.

If you're one to give weight to the opinions of Dave Portnoy and his "One Bite" pizza ratings, you'll be pleased to know that the internet personality gave the original Delray Beach location an 8.4 on a visit in 2023.  Portnoy awarded an 8.9 rating to fellow Florida-import pizza shop Mister O1 Extraordinary which opened this past March at City Springs in Sandy Springs and is preparing to open in Buckhead in the coming weeks.

Who do you think currently offers the best pizza in Marietta? Where else in metro Atlanta would you like to see Ah-Beetz open?  Who do you rely on for fair and accurate food critiques?

Please share your thoughts below.

Even if this is supposedly the phonetic spelling of apizza, when I hear the name of a restaurant like this I’m expecting the comeback of something like Sweet Tomatoes, not a pizza place.

Pizza made from beets doesn’t sound very good

Can’t wait to try this! I’ve been to their original location in Florida and loved. Atlanta doesn’t have any New Haven style pizza around. So this is very welcomed over some nonsense fast food pizza.

The name sounds like an expression from the ghetto.

Well, seeing how the word “ghetto” is actually Italian, then you must be mentioning it since this is a pizza place, and not as a racist comment.

Possibly but that area is not ghetto. Far from it. They hate Joe Biden and his blm and antifa thugs. I know because I live up that way.

Can’t wait for another pizza place. Hoping another burger, chicken strip, or Mexican restaurant is to follow.

Sounds like a recipe for failure.

some of these comments are hysterical, do people even read the article or know what they're talking about before posting? This looks great, better than some of the pizza garbage available, www.ah-beetz.com
