Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar plans to close its first Atlanta area restaurant this coming Friday, July 25. The restaurant, located in Peachtree Corners Town Center (5224 Peachtree Parkway), opened in August 2019 and occupies a custom-built, 8,300 square foot freestanding building along Peachtree Parkway.
The lodge-themed restaurant informed employees Monday of its planned closure but did not provide a specific reason for the move.
Interestingly, the Lazy Dog property is actively being offered for sale by a real estate brokerage as a "ground lease asset" for more than $4.3 million. The listing indicates that the Peachtree Corners location is a "High Volume Store With Healthy Rent to Sales Ratios." The fact that it's closing seems to suggest that it's actually not performing.
Before Lazy Dog's involvement, the property was previously linked to Chuy's Tex-Mex, which ultimately abandoned its development plans before construction.
Two other Atlanta area Lazy Dogs which opened in Dunwoody (February 2022) and Alpharetta (February 2023), remain open. Overall, the Huntington Beach, California-based chain operates fifty-two restaurants across nine states, with four more "coming soon," according to its website. Twenty-five of the existing and one of the upcoming locations are in California, where the chain is based and seems to have the greatest success.
Lazy Dog is the latest in a string of businesses struggling for survival in Peachtree Corners Town Center.
Uncle Jack's Meat House, located beside Lazy Dog in a separate freestanding building, has been for sale since January. The original asking price of $1M has since been reduced to $695K. The monthly rent, however, of more than $16K has seemingly attracted few buyers, with sources suggesting the restaurant may close if a buyer is not found soon.
CMX Cinemas, a movie theater chain owned by Cinemex Holdings USA, operates a six screen "CinéBistro" at the project. The parent company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy July 1, marking its second bankruptcy filing in the past five years.

Love this restaurant, so sad that it's closing. This is my favorite location but I do also like Alpharetta and Perimeter too. I always enjoy going to Lazy Dog. The Alpharetta location seems to always be crowded. When meeting people at the Peachtree Corners location some people have found the location awkward to find and once in the shopping center the navigation didn't always work. Very sad for this closure.
So not surprising. Norcross and peachtree corners has been overrun by democrats. They are socialists and do not support businesses which is why these two fine businesses are going to shut down
I really enjoyed having Lazy Dog in the Peachtree Corners area. I went many times and it was always great. It's really the only restaurant I go to in that area. I used to shop at the Forum but got out of the habit of going when they were doing the construction and removing some of the parking.
We love Lazy Dog. Sad to see this one close.

Rest assured, we are doing our best to provide options for our Peachtree Corners teammates at our surrounding locations, and we look forward to serving you at one of our neighboring restaurants soon.
The effort should have went into The Forum across the street. At one time The Forum was booming, but now both areas are just sort of blah.
Amazing that someone’s world view can be this skewed but I guess it makes sense given the political climate today. I went within the past few months and thought the food compared to the Perimeter one was subpar.
Right! They all grow their own food and make their own clothes and pump their own water and make their own houses out of trees and wipe their butts with leaves. They don’t use any businesses at all. And because of this, the restaurant failed. How smart you are to know this!!
Oh yes I remember some people saying they would punish the owners of the Forum by never ever returning there since they were getting rid of some parking. Have the stores all gone out of business yet?

The email I got said “unfortunately we have to close because of democrats. If the whole world were republican, we’d have 1000 stores and be billionaires. But since its not, we have to close. Sorry!”
The Peachtree Corners Town Center in won of the greatest fumbles in the region. The local government picked the wrong developer, the wrong plan, and the wrong businesses. They had a blank canvas and created a disaster. It looks pretty, but a complete disaster. Choosing A MOVIE THEATER to be your “anchor” in 2016 is like choosing Blockbuster video to be your anchor in 2009. Then they but the theater on the town green instead of restaurants. Then that unbelievably stupid placement of the bridge. Pretty, but stupid placement. It is almost criminal how stupidly it has been planned. Pretty, but stupid. Other town center developments run circles around PTCTC in regards to plan and businesses. The vibe is kids playing, people congregating, but just terrible business vibe.

First time I went there, the food and service were great. A little pricey but no complaints. Went there just last week. Service was non existent (had to get my own water refill) but the food was still good. And still pricey.
As Lazy Dog Campfire Club members we were notified of the closing last night in an email. The sole reason stated that they were closing was this: "Since opening, significant changes have been made around the site of our Peachtree Corners location, making it difficult for guests to navigate around and park easily, which is resulting in the difficult decision to close this location on July 25, 2025." That was it. Navigating and parking. Bullcrap! Are you kidding me? The parking garage is right next to the restaurant! We have never had a problem parking. I sent them an email regarding our displeasure in their decision and especially about making an excuse about the parking. There has to be other issues regarding profitability. It is inconvenient to go to the other locations so we may cancel our Campfire Club membership. The staff and service at this location was always great! We love the menu and that they continued to change it up a bit every so often.
