SUPER CHIX, which currently operates eight locations in Georgia and has several more in the works, now has two more locations in the pipeline, this time in Suwanee and McDonough.
The upstart chain, which calls themselves the "the anti-chainy chain," started in Dallas in 2014 and until 2015 was a concept in KFC-owner Yum! Brands' portfolio. Super Chix has since grown to nearly fifty units across the country with several more in the works.
Atlanta-based Zaxby's closed their location a few years ago with the empty 3,175 square foot building having sold this past October for about $1.8M. The former Zaxby's will provide Super Chix with their first drive-thru location in the state and just their second overall.
The first Super Chix to debut a drive-thru opened in the chain's home market of Provo, Utah, this past July.
Another new Super Chix is planned for the upcoming "Jonesboro Junction" strip center at 982 Jonesboro Road in McDonough.
Super Chix bills itself as a "premium fast-casual dining experience." Some have likened Super Chix to Culver's and Freddy's in that like their burger brethren, Super Chix positions themselves as a premium, quick-serve option boasting their hand-cut fries, fresh, never frozen, chicken, and "world famous" potato buns.
The Super Chix menu features several fried and grilled chicken sandwiches, a fried avocado sandwich, as well as fried chicken tenders and assorted salads topped with fried or grilled chicken. The menu also includes hand-cut fries, fried pickles, and even coleslaw, a side dish that rival Chick-fil-A famously removed from their menu in early 2016 in a move to add "variety" to their offerings. The restaurant also features in-store churned, hand-dipped, premium frozen custard.
The new Suwanee Super Chix is situated adjacent to Medley, the new 43 acre mixed-use development from Toro Development that is expected to bring new restaurants and retail, most notably a new Trader Joe's, to the area later this year.
The chain's current Atlanta area locations include restaurants in Avenue East Cobb in East Cobb and Perimeter Marketplace in Dunwoody, as well as locations in Braselton, Gainesville, Kennesaw, Newnan, Peachtree City, and Macon.
In addition to their Suwanee and McDonough outposts, Super Chix is also slated to open new locations at Toco Hills shopping center near Emory and in Downtown Decatur in the coming months.

Not sure how this will work. Their service is very slow in both locations I've been to.
