SUPER CHIX, which currently operates eight locations in Georgia and has several more in the works, now has another location in the pipeline, this time in Decatur.
The new Super Chix will occupy suite Q, a 2,945 square foot space most recently home to Wild Crab and before that DaVinci's Pizza.
The upstart chain, which calls themselves the "the anti-chainy chain," started in Dallas in 2014, and until 2015 was a concept in KFC-owner Yum! Brands' portfolio. Super Chix has since grown to nearly fifty units across the country with several more in the works.
Atlanta-based Ponko Chicken closed its location on the square in 2024 after about four years in business, while industry titan Chick-fil-A continues to operate a freestanding, drive-thru enabled location in a converted former Hardee's on E. Trinity Place near Decatur High School.
Super Chix bills itself as a "premium fast-casual dining experience." Some have likened Super Chix to Culver's and Freddy's in that like their burger brethren, Super Chix positions themselves as a premium, quick-serve option boasting their hand-cut fries, fresh, never frozen chicken, and "world famous" potato buns.
The Super Chix menu features several fried and grilled chicken sandwiches, a fried avocado sandwich, as well as fried chicken tenders and assorted salads topped with fried or grilled chicken. The menu also includes hand-cut fries, fried pickles, and coleslaw, a side dish that rival Chick-fil-A famously removed from their menu in early 2016 in a move to add "variety" to their offerings. The restaurant also features in-store churned, hand-dipped, premium frozen custard.
"At Super Chix, we are super into chicken. We think it’s just about the most perfect food in the world. And we wanted our recipes to celebrate all that perfection. So we did something drastic. We decided to keep it simple. We decided to bring to you The Last True Chicken Sandwich." (A certain Atlanta-based chain already with a location in Decatur, calls itself the home of "The Original Chicken Sandwich.")
The chain's current Atlanta area locations include restaurants in Avenue East Cobb in East Cobb and Perimeter Marketplace in Dunwoody, as well as locations in Braselton, Gainesville, Kennesaw, Newnan, Peachtree City, and Macon.
In addition to their Decatur outpost, Super Chix is also slated to open a new location at Toco Hills shopping center in the coming months.

Super Chix is good. Much better than Christian chicken, but getting worried that they're expanding too much too quickly.
Can't get excited for yet another chicken chain. What we need is more BBQ places.
