Off-price retailer Burlington apparently has Georgia on its mind. The retailer has opened more than a half dozen new stores in metro Atlanta in recent years and now has another in its immediate pipeline.
The new Burlington is planned for Village at Peachtree Corners (5270 Peachtree Parkway) where the off-price retailer will open in a space most recently home to pOpshelf and previously home to defunct off-price retailer Tuesday Morning. The anchor space measures 20,184 square feet according to the property's site plan and is located beside a Lidl grocery store.
Burlington, formerly Burlington Coat Factory, has been on a significant growth spurt recently and has added several new stores to metro Atlanta. The struggles of other retailers including Office Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond and JOANN have played a pivotal role in providing appealing spaces for Burlington to backfill.
Among the retailer's newer stores in metro Atlanta are stores in Suburban Plaza in Decatur (former JOANN), Akers Mill Square (former Bed Bath & Beyond), Edgewood Retail District (former Bed Bath & Beyond), Briarcliff Village in Tucker (former Office Depot) and Northeast Plaza in Brookhaven.
ToNeTo Atlanta reported March 31 that Burlington is also slated to bring a new store to East Cobb Station along Roswell Road in Marietta. Burlington will on October 30 open a new store in Augusta, its second in the area, marking the chain's 46th overall in the state.
Are you excited to see Burlington expanding? What is your favorite off-price retailer? What other types of shops would you like to see open in Peachtree Corners?
