[ALERT] J. Alexander's Sliding into Third Metro Location

The Battery Atlanta announced Monday that J. Alexander’s has joined its lineup and will open next spring. The new restaurant will mark the third in metro Atlanta for the Nashville-based chain.  J. Alexander's at The Battery Atlanta will span about 8,000 square feet and replace an existing restaurant and also take over additional space.

To make way for J. Alexander's, Cultivate, which just opened at the project last July, will close later this month.  Cultivate, which got its start on the Westside as a breakfast spot, expanded its menu to include evening offerings at The Battery.  The Westside location closed this past December after five years in business.  After the Battery closure, its last remaining unit will be in the beleaguered "Food Hall at Phipps" in Phipps Plaza in Buckhead.

The 5,432 square foot Cultivate space will be augmented by additional adjacent space to create the roughly 8,000 square foot J. Alexander's.  The overall space is all part of what was originally outdoors retailer Rock/Creek that closed in 2019.  At one point, the collective space was to welcome a reboot of the beloved Farrell's Ice Cream, but those plans were later scrapped in favor of the outdoors store with both businesses owned by entrepreneur Marcus Lemonis.

J. Alexander's currently operates two Atlanta area locations: on Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree Corners and on Ashford Dunwoody Road in Dunwoody.  Our friends at The City Menus reported in July that the company is also planning to open a new location in Peachtree City, where it will open in place of a recently shuttered Smokey Bones restaurant.  ToNeTo Atlanta is also hearing that another J. Alexander's may be in the works elsewhere in metro Atlanta, where it would also replace a recently closed restaurant.

Restaurant holding company SPB Hospitality, which acquired J. Alexander's in late 2021, also owns Logan's Roadhouse, Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom, Stoney River Steakhouse & Grill, and Krystal, among other brands.

This announcement comes on the heels of The Battery Atlanta's recent dining additions of Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux and Shake Shack this past June.

Are you excited for the addition of J. Alexander's to The Battery Atlanta?  What is your favorite favorite restaurant at The Battery Atlanta?  Do you think the Braves can comeback to win a playoff spot?

J. Alexander's is a quality restaurant. We visit the Peachtree Corners location over the Perimeter location because the bar is so much better. It's often tough to find a seat at dinnertime. Their steakburger with skinny fries is excellent.
