[EXCLUSIVE] Atlanta Restaurant Group Shutters Five Locations

Atlanta-based Southern Proper Hospitality Group has in recent days closed several restaurants including 40 per cent of its Tin Lizzy's brand.  The closures, most of which took place this week, included a total of five locations across four brands.

[ALERT] More Than 30 Hardee's Restaurants Have Suddenly Closed Across Georgia

More than thirty Hardee's restaurants have closed across Georgia in recent weeks after one of the brand's largest franchisees got into a legal dispute with franchisor CKE Restaurants.  ARC Burger, the franchisee behind the closures, previously operated 77 Hardee's restaurants across eight states.

[GAME OVER] Battle & Brew Pulls The Plug on Large Location at The Battery Atlanta

Battle & Brew announced December 22 that it has permanently closed its location at The Battery Atlanta.  The roughly 11,000 square foot game bar and restaurant opened at the mixed-use project in January 2024, nearly two years after it was first announced.

The Toco Hills location of indie vendor business Westside Market is closing on December 31.  The market opened in March 2018 and was the second location to open of the locally owned business.  The roughly 14,000 square foot space was far smaller than the flagship and original location on Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard which measures about 85,000 square feet.  Real estate sources tell ToNeTo Atlanta that the Toco Hills location struggled financially for years and that its size limited its sales potential.  The store was reportedly on a short-term lease that was not renewed, with the landlord (Edens) opting to pursue a long-term lease with another, as yet undisclosed, tenant.  Following its closure at Toco Hills, the original Westside location will remain open as well another on Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell and one in Greenville, South Carolina.

Bulla Gastrobar has closed its doors in Midtown.   The Spanish-inspired restaurant (pronounced boo-yuh) was located at the corner of 11th Street and Crescent Avenue at 60 11th Street as part of the collective 12th & Midtown mixed-use development.

DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) at Atlantic Station is closing as of January 24, according to signage at the store.  The national shoe retailer was one of the mixed use development's original tenants in 2005.  Real estate sources indicate that the closure was anticipated and that a replacement tenant has already been identified.

Alma Cocina will close its Buckhead restaurant on December 20 after nearly six years in business.  The contemporary Mexican restaurant first opened February 4, 2020, just ahead of the pandemic.

[ALERT] Atlantic Station Publix to Close After Two Decades in Business

At year end, Publix will close its store at Atlantic Station.  The grocer informed employees Monday of their plans which reportedly caught many off guard.  Thankfully, the store will reportedly close after Christmas, but before New Years, potentially as soon as December 27.

[ALERT] Conquistador Sandwich Shop Retreats to Savannah

Zunzi's has closed its lone Atlanta area eatery.  Located at 1971 Howell Mill Road, Zunzi's Atlanta opened May 30, 2018 and closed as of November 30, according to signage at the restaurant.  There was reportedly no advance warning of the impending closure.    

[SOLD] Longtime Patron, Decatur Resident Acquires Raging Burrito

Decatur's Raging Burrito, a mainstay in the area since 1996, has a new owner.  The casual eatery, which was listed for sale by owner and founder Scott Herman in October, officially sold Monday, according to a post by Steve Josovitz of The Shumacher Group, the local brokerage firm that had marketed the business for sale.
