McDonald's has closed another Atlanta area restaurant.  According to multiple sources in the area and confirmed by a restaurant employee, the McDonald's at 1291 Bells Ferry Road (near its intersection with Cobb Parkway) officially closed November 29 after more than 50 years in business.

[EXCLUSIVE] Popular Cupcake Store That Spawned Reality Show Shutters Atlanta Shop

Georgetown Cupcake has closed its shop in Atlanta.  Located at 267 East Paces Ferry Road in Buckhead Village District, the cupcake shop quietly closed last week after nearly ten years in business.  The shop displayed no signage announcing the closure but sources in the area indicate that Georgetown's owners opted not to renew their lease.

[ALERT] Taylor'd Bar-B-Q Gives Thanks But Calling it Quits in Avondale Estates

Taylor'd Bar-B-Q is closing after more than four years in business.  The barbecue restaurant, located at 2759 E. College Avenue in Avondale Estates, opened July 17, 2020 and survived the pandemic, but apparently could not survive multiple government projects that have negatively impacted their business.

[CLOSURE] CraveWell Cafe Calls it Quits in Converted Clean Juice

CraveWell Juicery & Cafe has closed its Sandy Springs cafe after less than a year in business.  The eatery, located at The Morgan Sandy Springs (formerly Modera Sandy Springs), a midrise apartment community at 6125 Roswell Road, opened this past February, and closed quietly about two weeks ago, according to sources in the area.

Popular gifting and stationary shop Swoozie's is shutting down...again.  The company, which started in Atlanta in 2001, has been through bankruptcy and multiple owners in its nearly 25 year history, but will cease to exist as a brick and mortar business by the end of the year.

[UPDATE] Handel's to Open Two More Atlanta Stores, Celebrate Company Milestone

Fresh off their Atlanta debut at Midtown Promenade in Midtown, Handel's Ice Cream has announced that two additional Atlanta area shops will open before the end of the year.  A new shop in Cumming is slated to open in November, followed by an exciting new location in Buckhead in December.

ToNeTo Atlanta has learned that Publix plans to open its latest metro Atlanta store next month in Buckhead.  The store, opening in Buckhead Landing (3330 Piedmont Road), replaces the former "Disco Kroger" which closed December 2022 after nearly 50 years in business.

Garrett Popcorn Shops has closed at Lenox Square in Buckhead.  The shop, located on the mall's Plaza Level, first opened November 26, 2014 and after an extended but temporary closure during the pandemic, has closed permanently in recent days, according to a ToNeTo Atlanta reader.

Buckhead Crossing (2625 Piedmont Road) will in 2025 welcome two new tenants.  In a roughly 17,000 square foot space vacated by the relocation of Michaels, Ulta and Skechers will each open new stores.  Planning materials indicate the Ulta will be 10,170 square feet while the Skechers will be 6,916 square feet.
