[EXCLUSIVE] Michelin Recommended Miami Pizza Shop to Replace The General Muir in Sandy Springs

A new pizza shop will soon open in place of The General Muir in Sandy Springs.  ToNeTo Atlanta was first to report that after less than four years in business, the Jewish-style deli which closed as of Sunday September 29.  We are now pleased to be able to exclusively share that its replacement is Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza.  

[MAYDAY] The Flying Biscuit Down in East Cobb

The Flying Biscuit Cafe has closed its restaurant at Parkaire Landing in East Cobb.  The restaurant was among the eateries in East Cobb that announced Friday they were closing due to weather concerns from Tropical Storm Helene.  In a Facebook post announcing the Friday closure, the restaurant indicated it would, in fact, not reopen.

[ALERT] Decatur Area Restaurant Pea Ridge Has Been Listed For Sale

Pea Ridge Kitchen+Bar is for sale.  The restaurant, located at 2607 Lawrenceville Highway, just north of McLendon Drive, carries a Decatur address.  Pea Ridge occupies a freestanding 2,200 square foot building with inside seating for 62, bar seating for 12 and a patio that seats another 12 guests.

[ALERT] The General Muir to Shutter in Sandy Springs Sunday

The owners of The General Muir took to Facebook Wednesday to announce the closure of their restaurant at City Springs in Sandy Springs.  The restaurant, sibling of the original at The Point near Emory University, opened in January 2021 and never quite reached the business level needed to sustain the operation.

[ANOTHER ONE] Aveda To Shutter Lenox Square Shop, Remain Open at Perimeter Mall

Aveda will close its longstanding store at Lenox Square in Buckhead as of September 24.  The 776 square foot store on the mall's main level close to Bloomingdale's, informed customers of the closure late Monday and directed them to the company's other store at Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody.

Local Mediterranean eatery Bezoria Mideast Street Eats is returning to Alpharetta.  Three years after closing its restaurant at The Atwater (2685 Old Milton Parkway) across from Avalon, Bezoria is opening a new restaurant at 3325 Old Milton Parkway, less than a mile away.

Starbucks is looking to open another Dunwoody Cafe, and this time, it's little more than a stone's throw from where it previously closed one.  The new Starbucks is being proposed for an outparcel of Perimeter Square (132 Perimeter Center West) where currently there is just parking. 

[EXCLUSIVE] Hen Mother Cookhouse to "Birth" New Alpharetta Location

After several unexpected delays, the new downtown Alpharetta location of Hen Mother Cookhouse is almost ready to open.  The new location at 50 S. Main Street replaced Holmes, which closed this past November after about five years in business.  The owners of Hen Mother purchased the business from the owners of Holmes and as of last fall, planned to open this past spring.

Opa! Gus Tselios, the eccentric owner of the Marietta Diner and a host of other themed restaurants, has secured space for a second location of his popular Yeero Village restaurant.  The new Yeero Village will be located in a converted former Arby's at 4865 Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville.  

[UPDATE] Upscale Thompson Hotel in Buckhead Shutters its Dirty Rascal Restaurant

Dirty Rascal in Buckhead has quietly closed.  The Italian-American restaurant held court in the lobby level of the Thompson Atlanta - Buckhead, by Hyatt, 415 East Paces Ferry Road, in Buckhead Village.  The restaurant opened shortly after the swanky hotel in January 2022.

Toss'd Gourmet Salads & Slice Pizza Kitchen at Oglethorpe Crossing (3442 Ashford Dunwoody Road) in Brookhaven appears to have closed.  The locally owned restaurant quietly debuted this past February in place of a Subway franchise that had been in the Publix-anchored center for several years.

[ALERT] 90s Favorite Romano's Macaroni Grill Shutters Last Remaining Georgia Restaurant

Romano's Macaroni Grill has permanently closed its last remaining Atlanta area restaurant.  Located at 3207 Buford Drive near the Mall of Georgia, the Italian restaurant seems to have quietly closed within the past few weeks.  Local readers recall Romano's having opened alongside the Mall of Georgia's debut in 1999.  

[EXCLUSIVE] Another Atlanta Area MOD Pizza "Folds"

Struggling build-your-own pizza chain MOD Pizza has closed at least one more location in metro Atlanta.  The Sandy Springs restaurant, located in The Plaza at City Springs (5840 Roswell Road) opened in January 2018 and closed in recent days, according to a source close to the project.

One of the OG Atlanta area food trucks announced that it will close this coming November after ten years in business.  Meatballerz, owned by the daughter and mother duo of Cara & Cathy Delalla made the announcement on their Facebook page.
